How many sites have you made? If you could only make just one site, what would it be?

I'm curious to know how many sites the average IM'er has made. I myself in the course of 4 yrs of internet marketing have made about 23. 19 were medical sites because they have high cost per click, the remainder were few Amazon sites that I was experimenting with.

I now have only one that I'm working on, I don't want anymore.

So I ask you this, pretend we live in a parallel universe where each person is only allowed 1 site. What would your site be about? Would you create sites based on passion for your niche, or sites based on money i. e. niches with high cost per click, or products on Amazon that are expensive so you get a higher commission.

He's alive. Right about now I would say I would start YonestanswermyfreakingPMs.com

Seriously it would be a social network. One site and you can pursue any interest monetary, social and potentially charitable

What's stopping you from creating such a site? I wonder this myself a lot. I have great ideas on sites I would like to build, yet I don't and I can't figure out why.

Sorry Mike, I have a offline crummy job that takes up all my time, but on the upside, I now have a budget to get my site going.

Wow, interesting question but in reality I agree with Mike - a social network.

If you only have one site then you could dedicate more time to tasks like moderating, engagement, etc. There are multiple monetization models that could all be used at once.

It's solid. However, it would take a long time to really get rolling I think. There are so many social networks that have fallen apart and failed due to a lack of interest over the years. It would really take a lot of work to keep active.

To stand out from the crown I think one would need to make a social network based in a certain niche, like movie lovers, gamers, bodybuilders etc.

Somewhere that people can go and be social about what interest them the most. For example if I go on FB right now and talk about IM, no one would be interest, vs me coming here. If there was a social network like facebook but about IM we all would probably be members.

Social network for gamers I think would be great though, forums are good but a social network would be better.

And it's funny you should say that since that is Phase II of SEOSUnite.

Once I cross 5,000 members I'll begin to roll out a social network based on Dolphin.

I was waiting until I felt comfortable enough in knowing that the forum was a go to begin with.

There's a Phase III as well, if the social network is successful.

I would still build the exact same business website today. It's a website where I showcase the services I have based on my core gifts (experiences and skills).

About 10 dot coms, three to four of which make solid money, one of which is my bread and butter.

I'd rather have five average sites making money than just ONE that makes all the money, obviously.

I'd make an adult social media site. Before you laugh, that combines social media with the biggest and most highest trafficked niche, even bigger than Facebook and all the other networks combined.

Not sure if that would work or not. You see people are very private when it comes to sex, the networks would be full of avatars and nicknames instead of pics of real people and real names, the things that make social networks what they are.

It still may become popular but it wouldn't be like Twitter of FB.

I have around 10 sites, one of them is for Amazon products, where I aim to include all the categories of Amazon.. and optimizing some keywords within that site, and keywords are ranking good, but only one keyword is in top 5...made just one sale...

I've been developing websites since I was in Jr. High.

    Don't be jealous.

The overwhelming majority of my websites have been dismal failures.

Regarding quantity.. I would estimate over 100?

If I could only have one site..

It would be a WordPress blog.

Perfect content management system, no need to code if I don't want to, and still the ability to create all sorts of fun backend stuff.

(And, I could still essentially blog about whatever I wanted).

yeah this is a good ?. I would start with a site that had some interest to you, but also was one that you could convert traffic into sales. And then just drive raving fans through my site and have membership w/recurring billing.

Great topic. I've probably created close to 100 sites. If I could only pick one (and this is on my list) I'd create a martial arts site that demonstrated simple, practical self defense techniques that anyone could use if they ever needed to.

I have made countless websites. Both for myself and for my clients and friends.

Well over 100 in the last 4 years.

In terms of residual income websites, my best success has been from developing Amazon affiliate websites for physical products and ranking them for their product keywords.

Once ranked these have not required much work at all to get to #1

That's probably the funniest niche I've seen.

Do people really psych themselves out with fake smokes?

Got a vapor buzz going on dude (eyes all glazed over, lol).

Dude, almost every freaking Filipino person I know. And sadly, for some reason, ALL these Filipino dudes are opening up Vape shops here in Los Angeles/Long Beach. What. The. Eff.

There's more to the vaping world than "fake smokes", which im guessing you're referring to ecigs.

As for the buzz, well I guess you've never had a run in with a Volcano. Don't ask me how I know about this stuff, i'm near Berkely....

Yeah seriously, that's a really good niche to get into right now right along with MJ. Both are really getting popular. And with the way things are going in the U.S., I wouldn't be too surprised to see MJ legalized at the Federal level if the current pressure keeps up. Get everything setup now and establish a brand and I reckon it'll be like Christmas when the time comes.
