Will Google Show Ads for $.01 Bids?

Forgive me for this SUPER-newb question - never done AdWords before.

I found a keyword phrase that gets decent traffic but nobody is bidding on currently.

If I throw up $.01 bids the traffic estimator in GKWT says I won't get any impressions.

Anyone had experience with bidding on a phrase nobody else is working?

If so, I'll just toss up $.01 all day long.

The answer is yes, but is very unlikely to be US traffic.

I believe there was a WSO a while ago about getting 1 cent clicks from Google using image ads.

It my be helpful for you.

If it is indeed a phrase that nobody else is using, and that's
all you got, chances are google will not even allow such ads.

Google is in the business of making money and satisfying their
search customers. That kind of ad would be useless. They
don't just take your money and run. It has to have value and
        serve a purpose.

If you really want 1 cent ad that makes "cents," then raise your
QS on, oh say a 5 cent bid phrase. Get a high QS, your bid will
        be lowered...perhaps to 1 cent.

But google reserves to right to maintain a minimum.

Quality of a bid is probably the most ignored concept on adwords.

If your bid has no quality, it won't fly anyway.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.
