What is your opinion on using keywords in meta data such as the page title, description, and meta keywords?

    1) <title> tag, yes, use keywords.

    2) Description can go both ways. Example, Wikipedia doesn't use a description tag on their pages, that forces Google to display a snippet of text that Google is looking at on the Wikipedia page & display that snippet of text as a SERP description.

    3) Keyword tag, never, all that does is make it easier for competition to scrape your keywords & Google doesn't really care about the tag (does more harm than good).

So, it is still important to use keywords in the title. Google hasn't changed anything recently about that...?

title (that matters) is not meta nor metadata.

It's just that. The title tag. There's no data there
to pass on, nor is it a meta tag.

Ideally you should copy past your title to the meta description. Always and your main keyword at the beginning of the title.

Google stopped crawling meta keywords , so it's pretty much useless. To be on the safe side of things, keep it empty.
