Hi Guys,
I started a website almost a year ago.
the site has around 300 products.
I am using open cart with SEO plugin.
I have good H1 and title tags.
Some text (I can do better on that).
I am doing competition analysis using majestic seo and IBP.
I am trying to get links back from good sites that link to my competitors but for now I get very very low results.
if any of you think they can help point me to the right direction I will be happy to hear.

Tnx allot D.

I think the strategy you are following (getting links from good sites which are also linking to your competitors) is a good one. What is the problem you are having? Are they just not replying to your emails?

Maybe you could try to participate or get to know them for a while first, before asking them to link to your website. e.g. post good comments on their blog posts if they have one, or maybe even buy a product so they will be a lot more likely to take to you once you are a customer of theirs!

One thing that people need to realize is that not every link shows in MajesticSEO or other platforms. Some of these sites might also have an aged domain with some aged backlinks. Remember backlink age is one of the only things you can't fake in SEO.

You have not mentioned about Social Media. Are you activate on them to promote your site? Have you done all on page seo techniques?

According you, you have done on page analysis. Now the most important thing is, whenever you launch a new product, make its press release and submit it to the press release sites. Also you have to do focus on social media as well...

Press release sites have lost their luster since Panda.

The one method that works, is to pursue such a vast variety of backlink types (at a speed justifiable by your site's current traffic numbers and niche), that whatever algorithm changes google throws at you, they affect only a small fraction of your backlink footprint.

Getting links from where you competitor's is a rather ridiculous strategy.

The chances is very slim, assuming the site has a link from his own network how do you link to that.

You shall try to change your strategy and try to get backlinks from high PR websites as well as contextual links and you can also think for tiered link building...

I had an open cart site where I was trying to sell digital images. It did next to nothing in sales. wait a minute... it actually did nothing. I finally disbanded it. If you're actually selling something I think the only way to succeed in opencart is using adwords.

Here's a few ideas for you to get links:

    1. Create some press releases and get links from these. Press releases are still relevant and will generate traffic. Use PR Web. It's the one that carries the most weight and your post will show up in search if you use the right keyword in the title, etc.
    2. Put your site on social media and create interesting, short discussion starters with images and links to your products.
    3. Guest post about your products. A good place to find places that need guest posts is Guest blogging: Looking for guest bloggers or guest post? Join MyBlogGuest!, but I'd also recommend finding high quality blogs to offer guest posts to.
    4. Blog! It works for keywords and has generated sales for our clients. Post these to social media.
If you have specific items people are looking for, use these in your keywords.

Go creating some high quality web 2.0s and also buy some aged domains and link your site with them. Actually its a hell lot of process but if you can find some good domains with decent page authority and links, which means a non spammy site then you could probably rank for anything

Well, it is hard to get links from your competitor sites if they have gotten paid links or they have used their own network...

You should have your own plan for link building that works good I would say.. try build relevant links slowly.

Hi, Its really pathetic. Google Loves Unique Content. What Google does like is great unique content. We have seen the rise in importance of content creation and curation as a marketing tool over the last few years. People use the web to find information, that is why Google is putting such a high value on unique content. Creating great contagious content that begs to be shared such as videos, blog posts and eBooks also has a big side benefit. That benefit is that people will link to your website or blog and hence Google gives you big ticks in its search engine calculations the more often back-links are created to your blog and website from other websites. Have a nice day !

Google doesn't have a clue If content is great, they only know optimized text/links/pages.
