I am sure most of you have heard of theories on how Google is trying to (slowly but surely) push the organic results off the first page and replace it with Adwords ads, or push organic results even lower and replacing it with ads.

Well, it seems like it's happening, although in just a few big niches. SEO's: Time to Revolt Against Google? | Search Engine Journal

Its kind of silly in a way , really .

The whole reason we all moved to Google is because of its organic search. If It all becomes about paid ads then why would anyone want to stay ? Sure Google as a BUSINESS will make plenty of money , but for how long ? Whoever has the big bucks will have #1 rankings ?

If this gets worse then Bing should take advantage so we all have somewhere to go..

That hotel keyword example is all Local SEO, all I see is local hotels. So how is that paid search taking over organic (it's not)?

If your driving down the interstate highway late at night & ready to sleep, wouldn't you rather see a list of local hotels (local to your current ISP) than some off the wall site doing a fake hotel review?

BTW, you can totally optimize for those hotels at the top (GEO location) If you wanted to piggyback off those preloaded Google searches.
