Does google ranks youtube videos on the 1st page for any keywords? Or are there some keywords restrict?

There was a wso where a guy was saying that sometimes google just won´t rank your video because the keyword is restricted so he probably was talking about keywords like: buy, amazon, google, ebay, card etc

Thanks

  • Kiwilx,

Interesting question here. I know that in adwords there are restrictions on what you can advertise. As far as Google goes, I’m not sure that Google wouldn’t show a video based on the keywords that it contains in its description. You would think that if Google wouldn’t show the video in search that it would just delete it from YouTube in the first place. I haven’t seen any definitive proof of this.

    Best,

As what Shawn said - I haven't seen any proof of it neither.

I rank self hosted video thumbnail images in Google SERPs (my own web pages) for just about any keyword I target. The thing with self hosted video is, the main thing that really matters is you have to rank the web page just like any normal web page (links). The video will simply attach to the web page regardless of where the web page is ranked in Google SERPs. With self hosted videos I can have an old existing web page already ranked, then go back later & add the video thumbnail image to the SERPs.

The only problem I've had ranking self hosted videos is, for some reason Google won't let a video attach to an index page in Google SERPs, but they will list that same index page in the video category on Google SERPs (weird) If I try & rank a video thumbnail attached to the index page.

So my answer for OP is, based on my own experience, yes, you can rank a video thumbnail image for any keyword as long as it's an internal page. Then again I haven't targeted every single keyword on the net.

lmao... who the hell makes this stuff up, seriously...

There is no such rule. This is just BS that the guy in the WSO made up.

Do the proper things, and you can rank.

I just checked a youtube video from your wso. did you use the same IP when making videos? I just saw a video from the youtube list that is completely unrelated to your video.

Check this: imgur: the simple image sharer

      Isn´t this your video also?

      Cheers
