Woah - Re-checked one of my old Amazon sites

It's been a while I've checked on some of my Amazon sites. Heh, that just shows how much I take care of some of my testing sites. Then again, they're all a "test".

Anyways, so my site which is beyond garbage - has like 40 reviews all the writers came from iwriter.com. Every single page on my Amazon site is a review with an affiliate link. I didn't even properly do my on-page SEO (h1, title tags, meta desc, alt img, etc) and a lot of these keywords are on the first page (not rank 1 though but on the first page). Perhaps if I managed my sites better and give a shit I'd do better .

Just a little update for you all. I've been having a lot of fun doing corporate level SEO stuff so haven't had the time doing my stuff lately .

      Hahaha! I should huh? I'm the only link builder. But then again, I'm dealing with fashion. I'm sure none of them (bloggers) want to have a link about "industrial tools" on their site lol.

        How much visitors you get per day now?

        Personally I never really care about the competitive keywords, I just post a whole bunch of high pr blog posts hardly using exact anchor text and then I let Google take care of the rest.

        Often results in 100 up until 600 unique visitors a day.

          It's not much at all since I gave up on the site after a month.

          You said you post a whole bunch of high PR blog post. You're talking about your external links right? I need to create a private network soon. Been lagging on it.

          Yes, even though I'm part of a company that's complete white hat I still like doing everything else :p. It's all about efficiency and results for me and I'm sure for everyone else.

            Having your own domains for links does help, mine are all sites that are built for traffic but I still use them to boost new domains/pages (external links). I would pick one niche that's already been a proven money maker for you & just own the whole niche/sub-niche with multiple sites.

            The best thing I have going for me now as far as links is a legit site built for traffic that's an authority site (6 year old site) with links that traffic helped build.

            If I was starting over today, I would still build at least one authority site & promote it like crazy to same niche sites/forums, then add PR links as needed. This way I get paid (traffic) & piggyback off that authority site for links pointing at all my sub-niche sites.

            I would also keep the sites similar in concept, example, If my authority site was a Photoshop PSD download site, I might have a smaller site promoting a Clickbank download product. This way everything across the network of sites is all related (ex: all download sites). So, all the backlinks look legit (because they are legit).

                I monetize most of my domains.                     No, I don't care about that stuff. My pages do ok so I don't even bother. I do have external links pointing at different pages on all my domains, a lot of those links are built by traffic.

                    There's talk on same niche forums about a similar niche Clickbank product (that's how I found out about it) so I'm promoting that right now via the traffic on my Adsense sites. I also stuff my download files (zip files) with an internet shortcut icon that points back to my sales pages.

                    The key on that internet shortcut link is, point the link at an internal page, that way I can switch out the product I'm promoting anytime I want as often as I want & traffic will still have a boat load of my links on their offline PC (1 per download file) that will be up to date years from now. That's easy to track by adding .../internal-sales-page#download-id to the end of all the internet shortcut URLs in my zip files, it lets me know which of my files generate the leads. All that traffic looks like direct traffic.

            Yes indeed.

            I understand your whole point, for a million dollar business it's a complete different case but we're not million dollar businesses, we are in fact more like hobbyist who like to make a good buck with affiliate marketing.

            Some people like to fool their selves talking about their superior websites but it's all nonsense, to create the perfect site and the perfect promotion you need millions of dollars. Sure there will be an exception guy who uses great link bait content, but that also has it's limitations as there are only so many bloggers or whatever in each niche so it requires much more like sponsorships / dealerships and what not.

            I also worked for a company that did legit SEO, in fact I had a job in the warehouse there back then but when I analyzed their site it turned out they sponsored tons of artistic people as the company sold posters. Such market is kind of unlimited as there is an unlimited amount of artists/painters freaks.

            Sites like consumer reports also required 100,000's of dollars (if not millions cause of the huge staff/employment costs) and probably you nor me, nor almost anyone on this forum has the budget to launch that type of sites.

              Yup and to add to that, like Mike Anthony said, everything I'm learning and utilizing at my job doesn't necessarily connect with the stuff in the WF. Yes, the same goal is the same (make more $$, conversions, etc) but the strategies done; completely different.

              For us to build links we're talking about $1,000 campaigns for one link depending on bloggers PR, following, etc.

              I happen to know a few people and industries that are doing really well and they are not million dollar operations. The people I see doing the best have offline businesses wrapped into their online business. Insurance agents, product sales, Lawyers, professional services.

              They all sell products or services that not everyone can offer. Most people doing affiliate marketing and adsene have no value proposition plus most of them have no return visitors/repeat customers.

              In a real business repeat customers make up the most of a companies business but with adsense and most affiliate offers you never get any contact information for the customer. Thats why people on here cry about SEO not working because if they don't rank for a month they make no money. Real businesses can rank for 6 months and build a client base up that continues to order even if they are no longer ranking.

              Like I have said before SEO is a marketing model, just like radio, TV or magazines are. It should not be a business model and with like MFAs people make it their entire business model.

                I'm all for repeat traffic, I make it a point to try & retain as much traffic as possible. I get right at 50% of my traffic from sources outside of SEO (not major social crap sites). I have traffic searching my domain names (not EMDs). I communicate with my traffic & get request for content, a large portion of my content/pages were requested by traffic. My sites are the destinations in my niche.

                All that didn't happen by only SEO & didn't happen by sitting around waiting (build it & they'll come dreams), I promoted my largest site non-stop for well over a year, pretty much on auto-pilot every since.

                Adsense or affiliate marketing isn't the problem, it's whiners that get banned for not having common sense.
