Hi Warriors

I need your expertise on this one.

I repeatedly getting salesman come knocking on my office door offering an SEO service for my website and they quoted me an arm and leg for it.

They offer to get my website list on the First page of google in less than 10 days, and guarantee to maintain it there for as long as I continue paying them on a Monthly basis.

I know this will be very difficult if I were to go ahead 'cos I'll be choosing a very high 'competing keywords'.

I've tried looking into doing it myself (ofcourse im not expecting to do as well as they do, but just to learn and see it myself, and try to save money )
But after 2 months of trying to add more content, changing url/meta descriptions and submit to search engine bots etc.... My website still has a PAGE RANK = 0

What I want to know is there anything I should watchout for before paying them.

What tricks will they be using to get that significant improvement.? (less than 10 days? are you for real?)

Will they be spamming my website with backlinks? ( I heard it's against Google policy).

My website has a google page rank of '0' , will this effect my placement in google search?

my website:

They are offering Pay Per Click Management without actually telling you that this it what they are offering.

If they are claiming that they can 1st page organic rankings in 10 days for worthy keywords, then the next time that salesperson shows up to your office, slam the door in his face and make sure that it hits him in the nose.

I agree that 10 days is way too fast for that kind of results.

I looked at the first site you listed "Unique Print" and several of the links on the page don't seem to have the expected results, the map was the first thing I noticed.

I do not go by what you are saying???

I agree it is not possible to do this with high competitive keywords, but with proper keyword research it is definitely possible to rank. I have ranked many times in top 10 in less than 2-3 days and sometimes even in few hours.

First of all, no doubt you have PR0 since there hasn't been a PR update in the past .. what.. 6-7 months?

Secondly, changing meta descriptions and other similar stuff won't affect your PR in any way.

Remember, links = PR. Traffic/content/onpageseo doesn't equal with PR ... and most likely never will.

Indeed, it looks kinda fishy that they are offering you a page 1 results within 10 days. There can be literally two options:

    1) The keyword you/he is targeting is extremely low competitive
    2) They are using somesort of private network to rank your site, but... if his private network goes busto (read: google discovers it and decides to deindex it) your personal site will be tanked and most likely never recovered.

If I were you, I would do some background check. Ask something like:

    a) what kind of links are you going to build
    b) how are you going to get them
    c) can you show me some of your previous sites which you have managed to rank well in google
    d) etc..

or better yet, choose someone who is not asking your arm and leg and has somesort of reputation.

    Hope that helps.

Excellent advice! That thing you mentioned about asking for references to previous SEO customers is essential. If the person is not willing to show off previous customers, they probably don't have any. Another thing, does the SEO company offering 'page one result' services actually rank page one on Google for SEO or SEO company? If not, they are probably not worth paying.

you should ask for testimonials and proofs of their work.

you should let them know the keyword you're targeting for the site so that you can check your ranking position with some of the tools available, or you can do it manually by placing the keyword in Google search and see if you're really ranking well in search engines.

Also if you're getting lot's of visits and no sales, then you should quit immediately.

Don't believe anyone that says they can get you one page one in 10 days. If it is too good to be true than don't fall for it.

I never buy anything from anyone who outright emails me offering their services anyways.

They can do the several things.

1- High PR domain 301 redirects to your domain. (After 2-4 weeks your website will vanish completely)
2- Make backlinks on highly spammed website.

Pagerank has nothing to do with rank. You can gain pagerank by getting several hundreds do-follow backlinks

Whoever gives you 100% guarantee on the first page is a spammer. If the person or the company is an SEO professional he or she should not give 100% guarantee because its not up to them its up to Google. The SEO will optimize the site and submit to google its up to google to rank your site and show the proper position on the search engine results. Its like you submit your application for a job. Its up to the employer to give you the job or not.

I have had great luck getting new sites on page one in google with in days or with in a few weeks some have been for very competitive words bit mostly for a local search for local businesses but i do have a few US wide page one sites as well.
I do good on site word optumazation and try to give google what it wants like a good amount of text on the topic with key words, inter linking pages, having photos named with good key words, at least one out going link to a related site, Main key words at the top of the site in bold, Bullet list, and i start each site out with a few good back links from some of my sites that gets the new site indexed many times with in a few hours. I have a few over 10 year old sites that google hits all the time and will index anything i add a blog post about.

For current sites with basic competitive words for sites i can 90% of the time get the site one page one with in a week doing all the same things.

Maybe i have been just very lucky

It is possible with lot of spam but if that is the way you are going then your website will tank too soon. Another way this could be done is using your own private blog network. Depending on the competition a few thousand dollars on building a private network would definitely rank you for anything.

I will also sprinkle a few article submissions, wikis and stuff like that, but yeah definitely possible but not cheap. If some SEO chap promises wonders for $100 then you are going down the abyss.

A lot of people saying SEO can't be done in 10 days. Nuts. I just waved my magic fingers and you're on the first page of Google.

Here's proof you're on the first page of Google for both websites:

This has 0 effect on your position in Google, a PR is for your own ego, nothing more. Yes it tells you if higher rated PR pages link to you.

But, I had a PR5 in a niche and it was on position 100 in the Google results and I had a PR1 in the same niche on position 2.

I sold the PR5 for good money and kept making money with the PR1

To position high, look at your content, with good content you will win most battles against websites with a higher PR and less content.
I like to give you this example of my website that I launched in June 2012.

This whole threads funny as F...

    I'd ask them.

    What my website url was?
What my main targeted keywords are?
Whats my competition been doing lately?

Surely they would know at least that. Before making any claims of ability. They should know what the job entails. And be able to price it accordingly.

I think it can be done. I have seen it myself. The No. 1 rankings were achieved in around 10-15 days and for the most competitive money keywords in India. How it was achieved I don't know.

The site I am talking about is couponsyar.in/. Curiously, the owner keeps changing the domain name through 301 redirection. The original site was couponyaar.in and after it achieved No 1 ranking for many keywords, the owner 301 redirected it to couponyar.in and now it has redirected to couponsyar.in.
The site is ranking No.1 for most competitive keywords like Flipkart Coupons, Snapdeal coupons, yebhi coupons and dozens of more money keywords in India.
Not only this, the owner of couponsyar.in has also started 2 other sites couponkubera.in and offerz.in which are also ranking from No.2 to No.5 for the same keywords.
Another thing Couponkubera.in has also seen couple of redirects. Thing I noted about these sites that the first domain name has over 50000 back links to start with and after the redirection the new domain name had only 200 to 400 backlinks.
It seems some body has found some serious flaw in Google's Algo and is exploiting the situation very well.
May be the SEO consultant claiming to get you to No. 1 position is not bluffing after all.

If your website is not an authority website already, then I would say it is pretty much impossible to rank on the first page in 10 days for any decent keywords.

If you do rank that quick for any good keywords, chances are it is done by a very spammy method and you will lose that ranking very quickly (within weeks).

Why are people saying its impossible in 10 days ... you can do it in couple of hours if the circumstances allow it. PBN's often achieve these ranks in a couple of days and even with competitive keywords. Low competition keywords can be ranked extremely easily as well! even without a PBN.

But I wouldn't go knock on peoples doors and guarantee first page results without seeing what kind of keywords they'll be using or doing any research on their site
