Warriors,

I've recently been working on learning as much about SEO as possible so I can start to implement these techniques for my lead generation sites. I've built close to 20 web 2.0 properties per site, each with unique articles, images and links back to the money site. For the 2nd tier, I've used GSA Search Ranker to build high PR links from social networks, social bookmarks, web 2.0 blog posts and articles to the 1st tier. For the 3rd tier, I've built high PR blog comments, forum profiles, image comments and some other things.

Does anyone know if this is a solid strategy? Also, how long does it usually take to start seeing results? Is there usually a period of time when the results start to affect the money site?

You are spamming if you are building links. Links are naturally given. Make sure your content is high quality and unique and people will link to you naturally if they like your content. You can promote you content via social sites but article marketing, blog commenting or linking to random directories are bad link building strategies. it worked in the past but not now...

What is it with all of these noobs lately?

Look, if you are about your website and you feel it is something that provides quality and value to the community it serves, you've got to promote your content and get it out into the mix for others to enjoy.

One of the ways that occurs is to casually link to it where appropriate. That's not spam, that's reality.

This makes me sick every time I read some post like this. Building links still works and always will.

To answer your questions: how long before you see results will depend on your niche and how competitive it is. I recommend you add a few high pr links using your main keywords to give you that extra push in the rankings.

The key to linkbulding is diversity. Use different sources and change up the anchor text and use do-follow and no-follow links.

Spam is a strong word to use. I don't think its spamming at all. As long as the content and links created are relevant and important then it is not spam. Writing forum posts with a signature that has links is not spam ..... if you are providing useful information. There are some people who just post on a forum just to get their links on the page. If they post garbage, then it is technically spam.

I would give it a good 12-24 weeks. And you will probably need to continue building Tier 2 and beyond links throughout that time. It really depends on you and how many and how quickly you build links to your Tiered sites. And the quality of those links in turn.
