Are you sure it wasn't webspam related? Check WMT it may give you reason you were deindexed.

My (wp) blog pages dissapeared from SERPs since today, look like they got deleted. My html site seems to be still indexed. Via google webmaster i dont see any warning or other signs.
This is a 12 year old domain with pr3, i started optimizing on page back in april, which led to great results (which are still showing on my old html pages in serp)

Yeah unfortunately google is cracking the whip on affiliate sites.

    Heres a blog about it - http://surviving-the-internet.com/google-algorithm-updates-august-21st

  • If this is actually true, it's just another reminder why it's important to diversify your traffic and capture email leads so you don't have to worry about Google's antics. Otherwise you're always at their mercy.

It is not actually a very new piece of news. Some web pages which primarily were developed for PPC and paid advertising solutions have already experienced deindexing and loss of ranks. Some websites with affiliate nature have begun adding original contents to their pages because their admins have realized the potential problems that may occur. You may consider writing some relevant articles, use incoming links pointing to them, instead of your homepage and wait for some time to see what will actually happen.

    What a BS.
Google will and never deindex good/valuable affiliate sites.

However, they will most likely derank & maybe deindex (rare cases) very shitty affiliate sites that do not give out what ppl want. Who want's to go to a doorway page when searching for lawnmowers and read utter garbage about it?

Really, if you want to succeed in SEO world post 2013 you need to put more effort in:

    *Creating relationships (read: real links)
*Generating valuable content (not filler content)
*Getting social shares through one way or another (not talking about fake shares/likes)
*Forget keyword stuffing, h2, h3, meta descriptions etc (content for humanbeings ftw)
    *BRANDING!
    * you name it.

THIN affiliate sites are getting deindexed. Consider it good news if you provide useful content because the competition is less.
If you have been hit you can either:

    - Dump the domain and move on
    OR
    - Try to add valuable content without affiliate links and put in a reconsideration request

Have heard from a few people that have tried the reconsideration request method after adding 2-3 pages and it gets rejected. We are talking massive overhaul and loads of new content if you want to get manually reindexed by a google employee.

The sky is falling and I need hip waders.

I'm starting to get claustrophobic in here.

That might be a good idea for a blog post...

The basic premise is to write content that people do actually love sharing. It sounds so cliche but there really are some things people love to share.

And I don't mean just social sharing, but people will want to link the post to friends or to answer questions that arise.

That means organic links, AKA White Hat Juice

For example, people love lists. 50 ways to do "this." 30 methods to fix "that."

Fill in the blank with something in your niche. Then just add some personality to the content you curate. Just don't copy and paste it. Make it "Yours."

Or another example is if you answer a technical question with a full explanation. It has to be some 'involved' though, which is why I called it a technical question.

Then the same things apply to this answer of yours. Own it, throw "your voice" into it.

But whatever you do the post should:
Give information + Connect with your audience.

My best stuff comes out when I hit those two points well.

Some people may not feel it's required, but I see it as having all sorts of benefits - not the least of which would be passing a manual review should you be faced with one.

I would say yes its deindexing but if you have contents which are very unique it would fine, you wont face any problem with deindexing.

Nope, I have affiliate sites climbing the ranks. But I have kept things clean. Only good quality links and no more than 1-2 a day drip fed for new sites.
