SO a little confused , it does have to be through google plus right?
And do i add it into my wordpress? or just at the end of every post?

Lastly, how heavy of a weight do you think this will carry in the future

Yes, you have to connect by linking from your site to the G+ as well as add your site as somewhere you contribute to the G+.

I think it might have some influence in the future, but it is still to early to say anything really.

  • Millionair3,

It kind of depends on how you have your site set up. If you have a wordpress site, there are plugins you can use to establish authorship on your content. If you have a byline that appears on every post, you just have to make sure it has your name in it so that Google can match it with your Google plus account.

More on how to link things up here,

As the previous poster said, it depends on the site. In my case, my Wordpress theme supports it.
      1. I setup a Google plus account
      2. I added author an author byline on my WP sites etc. as the theme instructed
      3. Linked an image to the setup on my wordpress site (first made an account on wordpress.com and upload an image)

About a week later, google picked it up and it was working.

You sign into your Google + page and find the Add Links page where you can paste a link to your website in the contributor to section. Then on your website make sure you link your Google + profile page. After about 3-4 weeks your Google + image should show up next to your URL in the search results
