Hey Guys,

What does google look for in a landing page to give a high quality score?

I know relevancy is a factor, but at HTML level... is it important to use the targetted keyword a certain number of times? H1 tags usage like in SEO?

any help is much appreciated! thanks!

I suppose in theory the quality score of a landing page would
depend on what campaigns it is being run in. It does receive
a preliminary QS, but then gets tweaked.

It's not a matter of what the page has on it, per se, like number
of keywords, etc. It is a matter of whether the searcher clicks
on an ad and gets a page that solves their problem. If it does not,
your QS will go down. Google has various ways of measuring
whether the searcher found what they actually wanted or not.

So, I do believe that each keyword you run will have a different
QS. That gives you the data to only run it on the ones that get
    a high QS.

Okay, after that said, it is a factor of how you layout your page
and whether the clicker gets what they want. I guess that would
depend on your site's look and feel, but not what you are asking about,
like h1. You can have your keyword all over the page, complete with
images. But if a person wants to buy Burt's Bees Butt Cream, and
you have a bunch of text with burts bees butt cream, and no clear
and easy way of actually buying it, then you're screwed for that
keyword. Like wise, you don't need any text but just an image of the
cream and a Buy Here button.

Make the page easy for the person to find what they want. Each page
is different. Don't run the page for keywords that are bogus for a
    searcher.

Sure, I am not going over the checklist that google gives you for
certain types of landing pages. I assume you have filled this checklist
    already.

      great answer!

it doesn't really depend if you have H1 or you have just 1 or 2 or more keywords in your landing page. as long as your landing page clearly shows what you are offering and and what you are saying in your landing page is relevant to what you offer, then that's a winning landing page. you always have to be in the visitor's shoes.

      Hey Paul,

thanks for taking the time and answer my question. At one point I thought it was like SEO in that aspect. I'll make sure to design my page for the visitor to find the information as easy as possible.
