600-800 visits in one month - I know its not at all possible... but my new client wants to climb the ladder in no time. I told them we will need to wait but they turned down my idea. They weren't ready to invest money on PPC as well. If that was the case... I'm planning to dump them.

Any ideas !!?

I don't think your qualified to have them as a client in the first place. Best leave them and their money alone. Sounds like trouble before it starts.

Go away and do NOT waste your time with him. This is a dangerous zone for you! Because you could not RANK a website in less than 2-3 days and have a lot of visitors while PPC will work good, but... If he is NOT ready to pay for PPC, are you sure he will pay you for your efforts???

Yes you can receive this number.

However you need to be patient and work hard.

My blog http.www.dietfitnesshelp.blogspot.com receives 100 - 250 visitors per day, but
it took me one year to achieve this.

I wrote fifty pages of unique content myself, and I linked most pages to each other (Google likes this) I also got some great links from other high PR websites.

    Hope this helps

One of my buddies had a website, earning couple of hundred dollars each month. He became greedy. He paid a SEO company to increase his traffic. That SEO company bought links for his site. In the very first month,he doubled his traffic. Second month, he did better. Starting from the 3rd month, his website absolutely crashed.

If you go faster than the speed limit, chances are pretty high that you will get a fine or crash.

The question is, you want to make money over them, or save your reputation? Think long term

Uh... 800 traffic divided by 30 days is 27 unique traffic per day.

    What's the problem?

There is a problem with that. We don't know the keyword. Maybe Google Keyword planner is showing the keyword to have less than 100 monthly visit. We don't know

        I still don't see a problem.

If your goal is 800 traffic per month then keep ranking pages for keyword traffic that totals 800 traffic per month.

You never target a single keyword. It just doesn't work that way anymore.

        OP:

Sit down with your client and talk to them about this stuff beforehand. Sounds like you either you haven't been communicating with them in a clear way or they're just a shitty client and you should avoid them altogether.

Or you've no idea what you're doing in which case... :p

It depends on the client, if it's some electrician in a small city (he wouldn't probably need you) then it's hard to come up with 600-800 visitors a month, sure people can tell you to rank other pages but it's hard to come up with converting keywords when the main keyword has like 15 exact searches/month so it would be useless traffic.

With affiliate type of sites focused around products it's a lot easier, I can easily achieve 3000 visitors/month within 1-1.5 month and more often 10.000+

There's more to life/SEO than exact numbers on a keyword tool. Sometimes common sense & knowing a niche goes a long way.

OP already said he was planning on dropping the client.

              Surrounding cities could help indeed.

How long is a piece of string?

How long will it take to get to Russia?

How long until people figure out no one can answer a question like this without the right information?

You could take any topic in the world and get 1,000 organic visitors/month. Here's a plan that will work every single time, without fail, regardless of what others will tell you.

      1. Spend an adequate amount of time on keyword research. Find long-tail, low competition keywords to rank. Don't worry if they don't get a lot of traffic, your focus should be on the fact that they are easy to rank. Make a list of a couple hundred of those.

      2. Now find another group of keywords that are reasonably easy to rank for but with higher traffic amounts.

      3. Structure your site in a way that makes sense with the high traffic keywords becoming "categories" on your site.

      4. Develop content targeting the keywords from #1 (use the standard on-page SEO techniques) and put that content in the proper categories. Link related content together and back to your main category.

      5. Develop as much content as you can in a reasonable amount of time.

Now - go into a related forum and become a MEMBER - we aren't spamming the forum. Do not put a link in your signature yet, just participate. Build up a reputation there and after you've written a lot of wonderfully helpful posts and started some great discussion, put a link to your site in your signature. This will give you extremely targeted traffic to the site.

Make sure people can easily share your content by having the right sharing mechanisms in place on the site.

At the same time you're doing this find related blogs and make actual comments on the blogs that add value. Not some stupid 2 line blurb that doesn't add to the discussion. Use your real name and link it to your site.

Lastly - start reaching out to the webmasters of the blogs you're regularly commenting on and seek out guest posting opportunities.

Make sure you're capturing email addresses on your site so you can let your readers know when there is something new or you have something to promote.

While you're off actually building a good site and getting it noticed Google will do its thing and start ranking your pages for the keywords you are targeting and a bunch of others you don't even know exist.

If you follow this blueprint, I'm 100% confident you can get to 1,000 visitors/month within 1 month regardless of the topic.

Now stop wasting money on WSO's and stop looking for some magic bullet. There is a recipe that works over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Achieving at least 20 visitors a day or ~600 a month is definitely possible and in many cases very easy, even without Google.

If his site is lame, however, tell him to get back to you once he produces quality content that people will find useful.

I don't see the problem either and if you're charging people to do this kind of work I'm surprised you started this thread... I'm not an SEO expert by any means but even my blog gets that kind of traffic. It's not all organic though - you need to look further afield to social media sites for referral traffic. Does your client only want search traffic...

I think its very low visitors count even if you are new one so yes its possible to get these count of visitors with small marketing techniques like facebook fan page and forum signature marketing and yahoo answer marketing is good one too.

If you are looking to invest in PPC for your clients. There's 2 safe ways to do it before :-
    1. Start with SEO and find your EPC (earnings per click/visitor)
e.g: each visitor makes you $1 per website then you can invest a maximum of $1 per click

If you don't know how to calculate EPC, the easiest formula is Revenue/no.of visitor.

    2. Start off with Exact-match long tail keywords + aim for a high quality score (QS). This drives your CPC way down and allows you to play and test around PPC.

I once created a test website and wrote 10 articles and posted them on the website. O shared these articles daily of facebook and received 50 to 80 visitors daily. I don,t think that you have to do a lot of work to receive a very low traffic.
