hi all

just wondering what people think about the .in tld?

there seems to be some good domains still available with .in

will a good seo'd site on .in do as well as if it was a .com site?
further to that say i wanted to do weightloss...would you go for weightloss.in or something like weightlosseazynow.com (assuming they were available)?

any thoughts/input super welcome

cheers guys

    Hi Kingpin

See I would've thought .in sites are most useful with a domain that precedes 'in', e.g. sucked.in

My other thought is that people's natural reaction would be to go to a .com page, so I imagine you'd have a hard time with people not being able to remember your site's domain (unless you had something catchy like above)

Domain name will not matter that much but the name of your site can or can not attrat the person. so what ever domain you choose it's fine but name of your site should be easy to remember and should be catchy

It's not as good as .com for sure.

People usually don't remember the extensions but the main domain name. So the chances are some of your direct traffic may be diverted to the .com equivalent in case you get the .in for example.

Unless you are looking to market to clients exclusively in भारत I would stay away from anything but .com.

I'd consider a .net or perhaps a .org in order to get a good match, or a country specific tld for another local business.
