Viddler Vs. Youtube for Video Marketing

Hi guys

We all know it's quite easy to rank a youtube video on Google's search results.
Question is: Can you do the same for a Viddler video instead of Youtube?

Anyone has experience with that?
I believe Viddler offers some advantages for marketers (comparing to Youtube).
Any advise will be appreciated.

Rank your own video page/s & skip the middle man (Youtube, viddler, etc...).

While this is good, piggybacking off of websites like Youtube really speeds up the process allowing you to get a lot more up there

Bad idea IMO to rank a Youtube video in Google SERPs then try & funnel that traffic back to your own money page. That's like asking traffic to enter a pizza shops front door, then take them out the backdoor, around the building & back in the front door to place a pizza order (lol). The more steps/clicks you force traffic to take, the more traffic will drop off along the way.

For every Youtube video you rank in Google SERPs your creating unnecessary competition. The Youtube video right sidebar will get most of the SERP traffic, nobody gets on Youtube to watch a single video (YT video ranked in Google SERPs).

Youtube traffic by itself is fine, but I wouldn't want Youtube video pages competing with my own money page in Google SERPs.

I get what you are saying, but it depends.

There is a lot you can do with youtube (it's just that they don't make it easy for you - so you have to manually implement the techniques)

Also, if you have a lot of videos, they will be the ones that show up on the right side bar, so the more of your videos are being watched, the more value you can provide the visitor.

It's also really easy to give incentives on why to visit your site instead of staying on youtube. After all that's what marketing is anyway.

That's not usually the case (multiple same channel videos sticking in right sidebar), more videos on the same account doesn't mean they'll show up in the Youtube right sidebar. It's random at best & can disappear as fast as it shows up on the YT right sidebar. My brother has 500+ same niche videos on YT, I do have insight with the issue.

Ranking a self hosted video in Google SERPs is basic SEO (links + text), rank the page, the video thumbnail attaches to the page for the ride in Google SERPs. It doesn't matter If your own money page is sitting at position #1 in Google SERPs or position #101, the video thumbnail image tags along.

Just doesn't make sense to me for my own money page to compete with Youtube pages, I see it as creating unnecessary competition (YT right sidebar) for Google SERPs.

Youtube is not bad but not good also. Viddler appears really better than average, and I recognize a ton of gaming locales use them. With Youtube, you are as a rule constrained to less than 10 minutes where as with Viddler, you are just constrained by the file size. In my case, I have made a video that was 13 minutes in length that to under 500mb. I couldn't post this video on Youtube as it has a limit of 10mins. So I posted the video on Viddler.

Youtube still is the most mainstream video offering site in the US, however, so I'll still be utilizing Youtube for those movies that match my present station's substance. Anyhow for exceptional videos, something like a theme that is unnecessary to my present Youtube channel, I'll think about utilizing Viddler again to have it.

Well, the question here I guess is whether Youtube is better than Viddler or vice versa, not whether you use Youtube or your website to rank...

Anyway, I haven't used Viddler myself but I had considerable amount of success in ranking Youtube videos.

About having Youtube as a "middleman" I wouldn't worry about it really. In my experience, I had a great success in ranking Youtube videos then funneling them to my money site. I can rank Youtube videos 10x faster (or even more) than a regular website. Of course ranking your own site is also great but if done right, ranking Youtube videos is even greater. I can go on and tell more reasons why but for now, I just want to say my experience tells so. Of course we all have different experiences and what works for me might not work for some. I just want to say that I love video marketing and it gave me a lot more success compared to the time when I was just trying so hard to rank my websites.
