Will this fix 404 errors in google webmaster tools?

I have inserted this code into my .htaccess file

ErrorDocument 404 http://sbkreview.com/index.php
Will this prevent my site from being penalized for broken links?

    Thanks DZ.. I know what pages are missing because i got rid of them. I just dont want it to affect my search engine rankings. So this should be the same as the pages being there?
