Backlinks from a forum

Hi,

I've been doing backlinks on a specific forum (which subject is my niche) and, although, the links are do follow or omisse, i can't see any link from there on webmaster tools or with other tools, like ahref, etc.

I've checked their robots.txt and it doesn't seems to be disallowing the forum link, as well as the link to the forum itself that it is follow.

What else am i missing?
