Keyword Research Tool?

Any suggestions for good keyword research programs?

I've been using Keyword Elite but don't think it's been updated with all of the Google changes. It runs painfully slow and frankly I don't really trust what I'm seeing (more often than not I lose my patience with it).

      Thanks -- I've heard of it but never tried it. What about Market Samurai? I've read mixed reviews on it.

      I assume Google's changes are hurting all of these programs. Keyword Elite certainly seems to be obsolete.

        I think Google is trying to put it's self out of business. If Facebook could improve itself, in stead of changing the layout weekly, then Google would be out of business. Everyone I talk to has a grudge against something Google did.

          Yeah, and the tool it gave a 10/10 was Rank Tracker which is virtually useless for keyword research. It provides very little useful data for researching keywords, and please do not tell me KEI is a useful metric.

          You are way off. First of all, I have never met anyone outside of crybabies on forums that have an issue with Google. Walk out of your house. Actually talk to real people outside the internet marketing world. There is a reason it has the top search engine market share.

          And Facebook putting Google out of business? Get real. People do not load up Facebook to search for anything outside of maybe a movie, TV show they like, or celebrity. Facebook has no real market share in search.

    Market Samourai is outdated too,I'm not an affiliate with longtail pro but I know it's a good a good investment.You will find profitable and buyer keywords.

    I would say that Google's keyword planner is all you need to make money but if you want to digg really deep the I would also recommend long tail pro too.

    There is also SEO Cockpit which you should have a look at too.

        The best keyword research tool I have come across so far is in your Google account. If you go to adwords and then find keyword planner you can research your keywords and find out how much traffic they get, how much they earn each click for instance. It's by far the best tool I have used, and best of all is absolutely free

      Hit tail was one of the tools given a 10/10 but the functionality of knowing keywords that can bring a site traffic is also available on Keyword Planner, just let me know if you can find it itself or I will show you the way

      I love google's new keyword planner. if u know ur advertising goals and u can correlate them to ur lp/product it's a goldmine (applies 100% if u're advertising on the google network) - since it's google keyword stats u're trying to find out.

      I used myself also UberSugest, but just to double check my research done with G's kw tool.

      Well, they dropped the free Adwords keyword tool and replaced it with Keyword Planner which is now available exclusively to Adwords account holders.

    Keyword Elite is also the only one i have found good i think they are beginning to update it but its still not modern for the type of search engine Google is, i have tried a few others but again many don't have updated changes.

      You don't need to pay for any keyword research tool to do keyword research effectively, except for a VPN(virtual private network) so that you can see for example USA results if you live outside the USA, same goes for every other country...

      To be perfectly honest - Market Samurai and Long Tail Pro are no better than anything else.

      There are some cool little features but neither are perfect and most of said features can be found as part of other tools anyway. Google's own Keyword Planner, UberSuggest and even Traffic Travis to a certain extent will be more than efficient, and all free.

      Definitely wouldn't use Market Samurai for it's SEO Competition module that's for sure - it's almost always inaccurate beyond being fit for it's intended purpose.
