Social Media Optimisation Question

Hello all,

What can I do to make my social media more optimised?
I currently post weekly on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and Google+ with a link back to my websites latest blog post and I have a few followers.

Is this ultimately it or is there something else I should be doing?

Start putting out teaser content at sites Like DocStoc and other doc sites.
Not only will you get traffic from the sites them self you will also get KILLER good back links.
I use automated software for this but if you have time you can do it bye hand also.

If you are using social media for the sole intention of increasing your rankings in Google, I would stop. You are wasting your time.

Paul,
If you are looking to increase your following, try interacting with other people and pages on the network. I’m not sure what you mean by optimization but if you are talking about getting things to appear in search from a social network, you could try including your target keywords if that is what you want to show up for however that won’t work for Facebook as large parts of that site are not indexed by search.

Social is a great traffic source, but yeh, it should only be part of your traffic. If you're on FB and trying to increase your brand, I would definitely suggest looking at promoted posts to try and engage your audience.

Not only can you benefit from the viral effect, but you will also be able to target EXACTLY who you need to. It does cost to do this, so make sure you are tracking everything and that you are able to monetise your click.

Google+ is no more helpful for Google rankings. Focus on other social media websites. Share your documents on document sharing websites, upload videos, ppt, pdf files. This is a great source to gain traffic.

You are doing good basic steps, it helps lot in generating traffic and build relation. to achieve more you may use ppc and post promotion for targetted reach.

  I don't believe in this. If your stuff is valuable, people will automatically follow you and relations will be built. For achieving that, one should only rely on search engines. AdWords promotion is good but one should never WASTE time on social networks..

If you want to make your website similar to a "NIGHT CLUB", then go for social networks. You will never get any SERIOUS visitors from there, particularly at Facebook, those people stay who don't have any job to do.. Instead work to get visitors from search engines. You will find ones who REALLY need your stuff..

Social networking can indirectly help in SEO but you should not mainly rely on it to optimize for search engines. Social media sites boost your online presence and you can connect and build relationships with people which really help in getting you more traffic.

You should join communities of your interest and relevant to your business. Take actively part in conversation with people and replies on your posts.

I think it all depends.
Whats your niche?
Do a benchmark of influencers in that niche, see how they publish on Social Networks, and which one has more likes, retweets, etc.
Then analyze their protocol and strategies.
Thats a benchmark.
Everytime you need to know something, do a benchmark. It has worked for me so far.
Maybe in the future I will program a tool for automagically do benchmarks and reports about it

I agree with r0dvan.
I've always*found that too get the best results on social or anything online for this matter,
you must "reverse engineer" what the successful are doing. Find an authority in the niche you are currently in and use this as your starting "blueprint" works for me.

Social Media used to get more attention about your brand, services and products. So you need to increase friends, followers and likes. Posting the tweets at regular internal or according to country specific timing. Mean the country where you want to promote business.

Hi,
You can create business page for your website and should update it regularly rather than weekly. Do not post link every time. It will be better if you post videos, funny pictures, quotes etc. Also you have to increase friends or followers in natural way.
