Would a blog with 5,000 hits per month be profitable?

I remember when I was in 5th or 6th grade I had my own blog for a popular MMO game that I played. It would get around 60,000 hits per year (5,000 hits per month). Looking back, I wish that I would have monetized it at the time.
But my question is, would a blog of this type really make much money with Adsense?

I'm considering starting another blog, and this time monetizing it. I think I could probably get almost double the traffic that I did, because I never really put any effort into getting traffic back then. I would just post consistent, quality content and post and build relationships on other similar blogs.
If I did this again now, I would probably monetize it with Adsense, Amazon affiliate links, CPA offers, and selling banner space on somewhere such as BuySellAds.

Just wondering. I'm more into affiliate marketing, but I could get into this if I wanted to.

    Times changed bro. Google change his algorithm and now is very hard to rank high but not impossible.
    It can be done, with good optimization and backlink play it can be done.
    If you bring valuable content on daily bases, even weekly Google will like it and you may succeed. Only thing is you must be natural and never force sale, push the content and sale will come alone...

    I don't think 5000 visitors is a lot in a gaming niche as it's doesn't have any direct commercial value opposed to affiliate sites for example.

    And even then, a typical Amazon site with 5k visitors and products of let's say $50-100 often only brings in a couple of hundred dollar a month.

      If I made a blog today, I would probably focus on how to make money. I would include lots of case studies, product recommendations, ideas & methods, etc.
      I could probably get 10,000 views per month at the least if I put effort into that.
      Would this be profitable? It would include regular adsense ads, CPA offers, affiliate WSO and Jvzoo products, and Amazon affiliate links.

        Well if your monetizating with adsense you wont get far. Amazon is an alternative but people don't tend to buy games off there.

    I hope you still own that MMO game blog which is getting 5000 hits per month. I think you should start using any of among adsense, amazon, buysellads in that blog. That is years old blog with regular traffic.

      I still own it. Haven't posted in years, but it's still getting traffic. It's a game that's mainly for younger kids.
      The only thing is, it's a Wordpress blog. I will have trouble using adsense on it, but I can definetely start posting some Amazon and CPA offers that target MMO games or young kids.

          Still better than nothing. I can double the traffic and get several dollars a day, then. If it's making a several dollars a day steadily, I can sell it for a few hundred dollars. Or, I could keep it and use that money as investing money to try new things with Internet Marketing.
