Hi guys,

I have a website, it's a new one... it has been a month since I made it but still my PR is 0/10... Thus means Google still does not know me. Can you help how to boost my PR at least 1/10...

Many thanks

    Jacqueline,

Don't get too frustrated just yet. It takes awhile for any web site to gain traction and get significant traffic.

I would suggest that it's not a productive strategy to go after, track, or otherwise put any undue importance on page rank.

The very best you can do is to persistently and consistently load up good, relevant, original content on your website (regardless of your niche). Make it the type of content that your niche audience will love, find valuable, and keep coming back to your site for more of the same.

At the same time, market (promote) your site to your targeted niche. How you do that exactly is what this forum is all about.

Be patient, work relentlessly on your site, and before you know it, you will gain an audience and begin to see the fruits of your labors.

Just one other suggestion. Begin building a list of niche prospects as this is one of the best strategies for continued Internet marketing (sending information and offers to your targeted subscribers).

    The very best to you,

    Steve

Focus on putting out quality content that users in your niche will enjoy and find useful, get a bit of traffic in the door and you will slowly start to see a page rank increase, but don't expect a huge jump right out of the gate, if you wanted that you should just buy an aged PR domain

PR is updated pretty often. It's just a matter of Google making those changes public.

You can rank with a PR0 page if you've got properly optimized content and your competition is weak.

Now PR updates occurs rarely so you can need to wait for couple of months to see any results. Also in the mean time don't just wait for the update but keep on building the links from relevant sites.

    You have 3 options:
    1. Backlinks with PR
    2. Backlinks with PR

I don't know why everyone HERE does not know that.

To the OP, PR0 means google does know you.

You need to start building the right kind of backlinks and be
      patient.

      Kangen,

Without doing keyword research it is very hard to determine how long it will take to rank with the term you hope to get a page one ranking for.

      If you are looking for free ways to rank then the choices are;

      1. Article Marketing (as you have already suggested).
      2. YouTube (use PowerPoint to turn your article(s) into videos).
      3. Web 2.0 properties (Tumblr, Squidoo et al)
      4. Forum posting (just don't get banned so look at T&C's).

You will also need to build links to your backlinks too. A article written in isolation to say Ezine isn't going to do much SEO wise.

I would suggest do some research on writing headlines and good copy. So when you do submit an article it will get you traffic too rather than SEO juice.

      Hope this helps...

Maybe you should try buying a .com for starters. You are not going to start getting serious rankings until you buy a serious domain. If you pony up the 11 bucks for the domain, you can get away with using those free methods. Write some good quality articles, build some Web 2.0s, make some Youtube videos, etc. Make sense?

In the long run, you are better off hosting your own content. You just never know when your third-party host could decide to change the rules on you or just decide that your content is breaking a current rule. I found that to be the case on Squidoo...grrrr! Such a waste..

There are free hosting plans out there. I know GoDaddy has one, which includes a free domain. If and when your website grows in content and popularity, in which you need more features, you can simply change your DNS to another host (if you don't like the one your on) or to a better hosting plan.

Howabout offer to write good, original posts on other sites in exchange for them to write a post for you?

Much is changing in SEO these days.

I certainly have to consider purchasing a domain name. Is it true that wordpress can decide to ruin my PR when they want, if they decide I am breaking a rule?

Wordpress doesn't determine your PR. That is a Google metric. I'm sure you if you broke their terms of service that they could take down your blog because it's THEIR blog.

If you want to save some cash, just get some cheap hosting that you get a free .com with. We're talking $5 to $10 a month here. Build one good authority domain around a niche that you can write about and be able to branch out to a lot of related sub-niches within that topic.

If you can't afford $5 to $10 a month and some elbow grease, I would seriously revisit considering this as a career. Don't think of it as a hobby, think of it as a business. And in business you have to spend money to make money.

It sounds like your on the right track and you have done a good job of populating your site with content. If your site has been picked up and ranked for the keyword, thats a great sign. However, posting a few blog comments and submitting one article is not going to help very much. You need to focus less on writting posts and more on building links, submit 10, 20 30 or more articles. Yes it takes time but it will be well worth it in the end so long as you have targeted a keyword that gets a fair amount of searches.

You can't learn SEO and earn money with a LIMITED WordPress.com blog where you are not allowed to even define meta descriptions for your posts..... First setup your own hosted blog or go for Blogger which is better than free WordPress platform and allows you to monetize your blog. A self hosted WP blog at shared hosting with HostGator will not cost you too high... And regarding with link building, nofollow blogs aren't going to rank you for even a very low competition keyword. Find some dofollow blogs using IntenseDebate which will help you....

There is a lot of good advice above, but I think you need to look at the SEO on your website

<title>Kangen Water Miracle | Information on this blog is general in nature, and is not meant to substitute advice provided by a health professional.</title>

Look at the way you appear in Google, sorry about the LMGTFY page, but its easier than posting a direct google link that might not work:
        http://lmgtfy.com/?q=site%3Ahttp%3A%...rdpress.com%2F
Would you click on a result that right in it's tittle devalues itself, and repeats itself ?

I am pretty sure if your links are routinely not clicked, Google might lower it's opinion on your relevance.

If it were me I would have had Kangen Water in the title more than once, written in different ways, and have no disclaimer there.

You might want to instal All in one SEO pack if you self host this, so you can customize your own titles.

You will probably find you will bounce up and down in the SERPS and will back on the first page sometimes soon.

Like many warriors who have also agreed, I would also suggest you to have your own domain. Not only because wordpress blog can't be ranked in Google, but mostly because your blog can be taken by wordpress without giving you any notice. And all your hard work towards SEO will be lost completely. Furthermore with your own domain, you can expect to rank your keyword sooner.

I think Google as killed PR updates, I haven't seen once since February. Which is really odd! But you can still rank sites with getting high pr back links that are available, just don't expect to see your pr being updated any time soon.

You should be more patient since your website is still a month old. It commonly takes several months first. If you are really worried with PageRank, you have to do link building. You can add fresh and quality content to your site just to improve your website's quality but for PageRank purposes, it's definitely link building. Build relevant and useful links.
