Landing Page Usage

Hi Folks

I am new to PPC and am wondering why you need landing pages as opposed to just sending a prospect to the advertisers site via your link.

Am I right in thinking it has something to do with keywords?

    will you be using the advertisers link the URL Display (am assuming your using google adwords)

    If you are then i think it will be fine, but chances are your ad will not display because most likely the advertisers URL is being used by the advertiser themselves, therefore only 1 ad can have the that particular URL.

    If you use your own URL, make sure the display URL and page your ad links to are relevant in content, otherwise your add will be disapproved.

    e.g. you cannot have a website with a domain ilovesports dot com with content relating to sports, then have your ad link ilovesports dot com /money linking to site prmoting money making programs. (hope this makes sense)

    I think that is the case but then again i am a newb to IM, hopefully experienced IMs can then you/me otherwise.
