Is there a big difference between 2yo domain and 6yo domain?

Hello guys and gals, I'm looking to start a big website that will be a long term project and I'm at crossroads right now.

Domain1 is 6 years old, never been dropped, slightly relevant name to my market
Domain2 is 2 years old, also never been dropped but it's name is a bit more brandable and relevant to the audience I want to target the website.

So my question is, is there a huge difference between 2 and 6 years domains regarding rankings in google? And of course, wich one would you go for?

Anxiously awaiting for your answers.

I'd say it's a difference of four years, if my math is right. ;-)

Seriously, I would go with the more brandable domain.

      Genius!

But ditto - forget about age - focus on brandability (unless of course there are backlinks we should know about too)

age is over rated for SEO. Theres no serious bounce I have seen for a site that is over say 8 months old. Links and other factors that may come about with time but not the time itself.

I'd choose the more relevant and branded one. but before you pick any of those. you have to analyze all of its backlinks for banned and penalized links.

Domain Age matters a lot and building quality links to an aged domain is the key of success.
