All In One SEO + Wordpress Keywords

Hiya. Been lurking on here for quite a while, figure it's time to join in...since I have a question of course.

This should be a rather simple one, but I can't seem to find a pure answer -
I have All In One SEO for my sites and am now (rapidly) learning about SEO, it's practices and principles. It's nice to know there's so much information out there - sometimes too much.

Anyway, my question is this. I type out keywords in my SEO 'portion' of the blog. Am I to also put in tags in the default Wordpress portion for tags, or should I leave that blank?

Is this the difference between META tags AND regular tags, or am I harming my chances of increasing keyword effectiveness by putting tags in both sections.

Don't give tags and categories the same name.. break it down into sub sections for example something like...

    Cat: SEO
Tags: Backlinking, LSI, QDF, etc etc

Cheers thanks for that tip - I'll be making a few changes on my blog entries, then.

Actually thought my question was regarding putting tags in BOTH the All In One SEO field, AND the Wordpress tag field. So there are two fields for tags - the default wordpress one and the All In One field.

Do I put the same tags in both fields?

    Hopefully I explained that better.

To answer your question you shouldn't put the same tags in both fields. There are a couple of posts I've linked to below which explain setting up the All-in-One-SEO pack (which definitely still has support, including regular upgrades, BTW) and the difference between tags and categories:

You may also want to look into Platinum Pack SEO which is based on the All in One SEO but has a few more features. From what I understand, All in One SEO no longer has support. With the Platinum Pack SEO, I just load everything into the fields at the bottom and skip the default wordpress fields. Works great.

When using Wordpress another plugin you are for sure going to want to install is Robots meta. . . .

This will help keep the link juice within your own site.
