Is the Amazon Afilliate Program still dead?

Hi guys,

I havent been in this thread for the past few months but I used to frequent it. The reason being was because I had a number of Amazon Affiliate sites making some pretty descent returns and one of the google updates destroyed everything... It seems like everyone was doing it a year ago and now no one mentions it

Are any of you still making money with it and what has changed for you? Would you consider it still a good way to make money online? Just trying to decide what to do.

Thanks!

It wasn't dead and still isn't. The only thing that's dead is people making crappy 2-3 page affiliate sites with an EMD and blasting rubbish backlinks at it.

The Amazon afifliate program is still lucrative for those who know how to go about it in the right way

    - Do KW research the RIGHT way
    - Add unique, EPIC content
    - Backlink from relevant sites

If listbuilding is still alive, then yes affiliate marketing is also alive, and it's never going to die.
As long as there is product creation, there will be always a door open for money to be made by affiliates.

I think that it's maybe one of the best projects that allow you earn money. They are not easy money, because you have to work hard... But you can always pay somebody to create a good blog for you and add 5 articles 500 words each for maybe about $40-$50... Then once every 2 weeks you can pay him write another article for you with 400-500 words if you don't want to write them yourself... Then you can always to Off-Page SEO yourself or pay anybody. Don't forget that with a small investment, you can do a good ranking for a good keyword and this will make you earn good profit almost automatically!

Amazon affiliate sites aren't dead - it's just that you need to provide some value beside reviews with links. whenever you just use a site to make money you'll fail because sooner or later google will catch you. so much better when you simply add some good quality stuff around your niche as well :-)

I think we need a new rule like that one for news reports that end with a question mark. If you're asking if something is dead, the answer is no. Few things in marketing die. They just get harder as the low-hanging fruit goes away.

Amazon is dead, Adsense is dead, Clickbank is dead.

    And SEO is also dead.

    Better give up now.

The Amazon affiliate program certainly isn't dead, I still make money with it. In fact, there seems to be even more Amazon niche sites popping up now. Look at all the products that you can advertise as an affiliate on Amazon, it's no where near dead

Amazon affiliate program is dead...for some in certain parts of
      the United States.

I can't help but comment on the logic behind a statement like:
Is the Amazon Afilliate Program still dead?

That would assume it was dead. So, if it's dead, why try and revive
a dead horse? That's would be like asking if the lawn dart business
is still dead. Asking that question serves no purpose.

If you really thought the amazon affiliate program was dead, you
would have moved on long ago.

I hear the scramble of searching for lawn darts....
