Hi everyone,

I have a blog that got hit with a large traffic drop on Sept 13th-14th. I've never done any backlinking or anything for it.

Was there some sort of update at that point? I'd like to get some sense of what happened, so that I could fix it.

Yes, according to my research that was exactly when Hummingbird dropped.

Take note of the second traffic graph that shows a very significant drop on the 14th, with some recovery but not full by any means.

Was you traffic coming from Google? which source dropped? if organic traffic then check in ahrefs.com if you lost some backlinks.

    Maybe that's the problem?

You need authority coming from somewhere.

Quality link building isn't a bad thing, building crappy links is what's bad.

Very interesting. This is just my personal blog, not a commercial one, but I was wondering what explained the drop.

Fortunately, it sounds like this isn't a penalty, like Panda or Penguin. It's just that Hummingbird doesn't like me. Oh well, that's easy enough to fix. Thanks.
