How to get a page OFF google?

so I've got an old page that was showing up in google searches that is not relevant, I just did a redirect on the domain to another site, but the page is cached/indexed I guess because it still shows up on google searches for a particular keyword search (though when you click on it, it goes to the redirect).

Are there any tricks to get it taken off faster or do I just wait another week or two to see if it drops off naturally? Anyway to force a google bot visit to your site easily?

Thanks

Google Webmaster Tools offers this function.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

    If you're redirecting make sure it's a 301

You could put a disallow in your robots file

If it's just one page and you want it removed, I recommend the Google Webmaster Tools removal tool. It will take a few business days, but it will get it out of the searches.

However, if it's getting a good rank and is getting good SE traffic, doing a 301 redirect will push that traffic to a live page that you can monetize. That might be the better way to go.
