Sites.Google.com EDU Sites?

If I have a https://sites.google.com/a/[somecollege].edu blog available to me does that count as a .edu site for backlinks? While digging through my profile at [somecollege].edu, that was their choice for a blogging platform instead of WordPress or some other web 2.0 product.

    It's a Google sub-domain just like any free Google Site anyone else can build.

    If your thinking .edu has some kind of magic for SEO, it doesn't.
