There is no easy way as I have learned recently. You need to work hard and put in long hours and loads of content throught the web. Do some research and you will find out where to submit press releases and articles which, in time, will give you the backlinks you desire.

You can try Google 'Blog'or 'Discussion' search. Also another rough way is to stumble through websites as whichever looks related to your niche add comments.

Just search in google with keyword "dofollow high PR blogs"..and you will find sites that provide list of dofollow blogs which you can use to build backlinks to your site...

If you're looking to do things on your own, I'd suggest (if possible) investing in Scrapebox. And, no, NOT for the automated blog commenting feature. But if you can give yourself some time to learn it, it is an invaluable tool that can help identify all sorts of sources. (Not just blog commenting sources, either.)

Better focus on content than some quick link building. Manually comment blogs, do some quest blogging. When writing a content try to optimize post with long tail non competitive keywords...

There two options here expensive (quick) or time consuming (free).

Here are some tips to do it quickly,

1) Best a network it can not only help your own sites, but other ones you build
2) Use Majestic SEO to find all the backlinks that your competitors have

Time Consuming Tips

1) Reach out to others that will link to you (ie: not the same people trying to attack the same keywords) use Buzz Stream to make it faster.

.... well that's about all, since links won't come by their self. You have to reach out to people.

Really the best option here is to build your own network.

Yes, I agree with your point.. This exactly what i thought to say. But about link exchange, please make sure the content should be unique & highly related to the niche.

That's not an entirely bad idea / strategy. The heavy hitters are Google Profiles, Facebook Page Links, YouTube Video Description Links, Twitter Profile Links, Linked In Profile, (all top SM sites)

After that, you can manually gather a list of blogs that write about stuff in your niche, and kindly ask them if you can write an article for them, and you could include your link at the bottom, but don't use the same article for each blog / site, and take your time writing them.
