SEO is a loooooooooooooooooooooong process, you do one thing today, and the results from it are evident a month later. I would do as much as I can to make it "Google Friendly"

Dissavow bad links, reconsideration request, content checkup, check your webmaster tools for any warnings ETC. Just wait it out.

Agree with you. There is no shortcut for recovering from anything of Google. It will need a lot of hard work and patience.

Nobody can afford to be 'patient' in this hyper-competitive online world we exist in. SEO is a crap shoot at best.

You're better off coming up with a new model, with a paid ad front end and getting on with your life.

The 9/4/2013 unnamed update was probably Hummingbird. Who knows how to recover from that? Nobody yet.

Nothing has changed, still all about internal/external links & optimized text.

Yes, that's true... But if he can't wait, he could try of course any PPC and this will help him NOT to stop or decrease the number of visitors per day... There is no CURE for Google Penalty problem...

Exactly, it takes too long to analysis any effect. I think following google guidelines carefully would be one of the way to get out of it

It takes weeks or months depends on the case. My site has ever been penalyzed and recovered after 1 years. Another site need 5 months to recover...In this case..I suggest you to not have only one site so you can still make money while one of your blogs get penalyzed..

Get rid of your spammy links, send google the list and request reconsideration ASAP. My experience, best case scenario, 3 weeks.

Use a backlink removal service like linkdelete.com

They will take care of the whole process for you and then give you a detailed report that you submit to Google. They removed my penalty after 3 months because I had 100,000 backlinks on one website alone!

Then you want to disavow linsk that they cant remove. They will tell you that though.

Recovery time after penalty was removed was about 3 weeks.

If you have been targeted by any of the updates then you are not in good shape. It is still possible to recover but it will take some time. Here are a few things you should try:

    - If you have lots of duplicate, spun, poor content. Get rid of it!
    - How is your keyword density? Are you keyword spamming?
    - How much content do you have on your website? Add a lot of original content
    - Continue to seek out any bad links you might have gathered through paid services and get rid of them

That being said, penalties are time based. That means that after a certain time they will be lifted IF you have removed the reason for why you got it in the first place.

I advice you to check out Matt Cutts on YouTube. A lot of great information in regards to Spam and Google Updates.

    Good Luck!
