Moved a Site to New Domain - Paranoid about Panda - Please Help

Hey there

I was wondering if someone could kindly help me.

I have a site that got hit by many Penguin updates, but still gets a lot of affiliate traffic. (Site A)

I decided to rank another site, site B, with the plans of doing a switcheroo.

Once Site B ranked, I would then copy content from site A over to site B. I would then remove site A as soon as possible.(I not redirect anything because I know firsthand that redirects pass penalties).

-

I have almost done all of the above, but it is taking me days to remove all the content. It is a very large site.

Also, if G has Site A's content cached, and they then view site B and see the same info, will site B get hit?

I am losing sleep and am going crazy over this.

Ideally you will want to get all the content off site A first. Download the content then deindex the site.

Then once the site is deindexed, put the content up on site b.

If its a bit site this is a lot of effort. It could potentially be automated if its wordpress but thats a technical issue i am not 100% familiar about.

Regarding link juice from the site, i would 301 all the juice to the homepage. Put up a single post and use it to link to site B. Why not give yourself a bit of juice from it ya know?

Re the Juice: Yeah I was going to do that. I was going to do a We Have Moved link from A to B.

What about telling them in WMT that I've moved? Is that dangerous if A had a penalty?

Dont 301 a) to the new domain. 301 pages on a) to the root and get the content deindexed from a).

Whether or not a link from site a) to b) is bad is unknown. I am not sure anyone has any evidence that getting a link from a penalized site does not pass juice or could increase the liklihood of getting penalized. As far as i am aware, no one knows the answer to that.

Personally i would not tell webmaster tools you have moved the site. Just set up a new webmaster tools for site b imo.

The only other option would be to keep site a) up and do a disavow if it has a penguin penalty. That could potentially get rid of it, although nothing is guaranteed and you may have to wait a while.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

    Yes I know not to 301 A to B.

I know what you meant when you said to 301 As pages to its home page.

As far as A's penalty - I dont care any more. I am done with site A.

I just fear A and B having the same content temporarily could hurt B.

    Thoughts?

Does not surprise me. Its hard to tell for sure though because of so many outside factors at play. I would guess the same though. Even if it increases the "riskyness" if you keep site B clean it should be good
