After running a site assessment on removeem.com the following was communicated:

Below is the anchor text break down for your site. We have provided values for root domains (unique linking domain), total links (unique links), and mozRank (authority measurement) for each anchor text used in links to your site. Items highlighted in pink are moderately over optimized and those in red are strongly over optimized. Bear in mind that if you are highly optimized for your own brand terms, it is a good thing. You should be most concerned if valuable keywords are over optimized. Over-optimization can sometimes result in your site being penalized algorithmically for that specific anchor text.

Question is, how does Google make the destinction between a over-optimized 'brand term' and a over-optimized 'valuable keyword'.

This was Removeem's response just in case someone is interested:

Generally speaking a "brand" term can be defined as phrase variations of
your domain name. E.g. "exampledomain.com.au", "Example Domian", and similar. We feel additional consideration is made
toward those terms deemed to have commercial intent. E.g. "Property
Services" is frequently used in adwords campaigns across multiple
companies, so it is more likely a commercial phrase and not a brand phrase.
I hope this help explain it. Let me know if you need further clarification.
    Thanks,
    Jake
