Hello All,
I have a website, which is already in Google places. I also want to get ranked in Organic search. Is it possible to do work for both. What are steps I should follow if the website is already ranked organically and i want to rank it on Google places also and vice versa.
Waiting for your suggestions...

Make sure you don't use the exact website always a landing page on the site so /landingpage on places otherwise it will make it harder Google likes to diversify and if you do exact it may not show both.

Good advice. A best practice is to use a location landing page as the URL in places anyway, so this makes it easier to rank the index page.

Usually, a Goolge Maps listing shows up for a specific location based on proximity (plus other factors, of course).
As for a website, it's easier to rank it for local-intent queries if the location is mentioned somewhere on the landing page (in the title, in the heading, etc.)
For instance, as it is the case in the case in the example Ben provided.
