Sup, so I've been too caught up in the SEO corporate world. Completely different from what I've learned here.

Help me catch up folks. Asides from the complaining that your traffic is gone, and your tiered linking sucks and etc. etc. what else is new?

Also, what products have you been using?
I'm not diggin this keyword planner so I'm looking into venturing out with some kind of program. I've always wanted to try long tail pro but not sure. Thoughts?

Anyways, I'll tell you what I've been doing in the corporate world. A lot of link removals, a lot of research, duplicate content issues, canonicalization factors lol and creating over 200 slides in regards to international SEO.

So..what sup fellas? Entice me .

I did corporate SEO for a while. I spent the majority of my time fixing bugs. Mainly duplicate content. It is really boring!!! I prefer doing SEO for startups or my own venture.

Luckily I LOVE MY JOB. It's not boring at all. Why? Cause we get to drink at work, and I work for a clothing company so......90% of the workers here are hot ass girls that are into fashion. For me, I don't know rats shit but keyword research and striking distance to rank certain designers lol. But the material, and why it's expensive wtf should I know.

Unfortunately this is pretty much all you will find here. That and the same old high school popularity contests. You're doing just exactly what I'm doing too.. venturing out to other places for different angles and points of view. Not enough of that here, either... yawn...

      .

Yeah. I have a lot of free time. Figuring out what to do for my business. I can go different routes.

I can have a site that's all curated.
I can have a legit weight loss site where it's a daily blog
I don't even need to have a site and make money
      PPC.

Just trying to make more $$ tis all.

I work together with the Head of Global Search for a large multinational corporation.
Where we get links from is mostly product reviews by bloggers (not so much these days, was used much more before) and a lot of effort is put into PR. The company is very innovative so the media is interested and articles are published often..there are guidelines how departments should write the website content and press releases when a new product comes out. IT makes sure all on-page seo is fine (except for the content itself).
Finally lot of effort is put into social media and influencers, we believe it has a major effect on seo.

Yo! Nice. But I'm not interested in what your company does. I'm interested in what YOU'RE doing outside your 9-5. IF you're doing online marketing on the side as well .

I use Scrapebox and a new tool called Xrumer to blast quality links at my thin affiliate sites and get #1 rankings overnight. I'm averaging about $1k per day with this method. Send $19.99 to WSOscams@lol.com and I'll send you a detailed report on how to do it.

Finding tons and tons of high PR/trust/authority expired domains with a clean history and link profile. Adding them to my private network or converting them into an authority in their niche then adding Adsense and various CPA offers.

Good to hear you mention duplicate content, lot of my clients deal with that as well. Especially for eCommerce sites it often seems to be some necessary evil where web designers say: 'Google shouldn't index that as it's only for internal use'. Well, they do, so what you gonna do about it

What you've been doing sounds more like fixing problems, which sure seems to be the number one priority before building any links.

But, did you build any links thus far?

Dude, our site has SO MANY Issues right now. SEO was never done to it and the company has been around since 2003. Haven't even built links yet and it's been 7 months now lol.

SEO was only implemented since 2012. Sad thing is only two people know SEO the director of SEO and me that's it. Everyone else is clueless or don't understand why x benefits y etc.

But so far the way things are looking, links will be built out with the help of PR and social media since most of our customers are fashion bloggers/girls/etc.

    Now about what I'm doing:

    - Expanding my network of high PR sites
    - Splitting it up in different section to reduce risk of getting reported some day
    - Building 160 of those high PR domains out to authority sites (huge job obvious)
    - I had 10 Amazon sites outsourced and 10 that I build myself although none has received any links thus far (besides two of them) so kind of an idle project.

Perhaps nice to mention, I'm setting up those supposed to be high PR authority sites in a specific way to avoid any type of duplicate content:

    - Static homepage where I add snippets that link out.
    - Unique snippet of text that I use in the excerpt to show on category level
    - Unique post, the static homepage snippet links to that post
    - Disable author/admin/page/tag archives.

This way I prevent any type of duplicate content over the whole site and it allows me to use 3 different anchors / links as it are in fact 3 unique posts. (2 intro's and 1 full length post).

When you consider the extra work put into this and the cost price of perm homepage links it gets quite costly for 1 link, while anchor diversity is of great importance so I think this is a great solution to that without costing too much.

You ever tried those automated amazon plugins just for the hell of it? Azonbuilder or whatever?

        Yeah didn't work.

Later on someone else said it could work when you (in addition to spinning the content) write unique post titles.

Or when you add a shit load of other content but that kind of kills the whole concept.

That is a lot of work to prevent duplicate content... Why not just use canonical tags?

I like that I can use 3 different anchor text's this way, instead of having 3 of the same.

But yeah, if it was only from a duplicate content point of view then canonical tags would be easier.

I"m assuming it was Gaz cooper that said it could work when you write unique post titles lol.

I'm trying to find something where it can make my life easier with all the time constraints that I have. Of course, not going ALL automated, but something efficient.

Well, I don't so clients so can't answer on that. (that's a bit of a lie because I do actually have a few clients, but that is outside the scope right now).

LTP is awesome when you want to find and organize keywords for a thick site. I'm not really doing that anymore. Think curation...creatively. It's changed online.

Google is loving different things lately. It's easy if you know how to play.
