Share your thoughts about Your Top 5 Backlink Types after penguin 2.1, what's the best for penguin 2.1 and what will be worthless.

    The basic concept of Google penguin update is to penalize the website having lots of spam or low quality backlinks. So what you do is just follow quality link building strategies and Google's guidelines.
    The five things that works good for is:
    • Guest blogging again as matt cuttts said "Guest blogging is the sort of thing that you should think about doing in moderation, it shouldn't be your full time job... if that's all you're doing then that's probably not the best way to build reputation for your website."
    • Infographics (well designed, clear and informative)
    • Social Media Sharing (Engage with people, share informative posts, follow your niche people & communities and regular activities)
    • Site structure and content (Well designed, right navigation i.e. use breadcrumb, update site content at regular time interval and user friendly)
    • PPC (Best part it isn't affected by any Google algorithmic updates)

        Friend, i didn't write that all 5 methods are backlinking methods. I wrote that these five things or techniques will work fine with penguin 2.1 update.

    Hitting by Google update is worse thing, all you effort may go dustbin juts by small mistakes, and yes these few things are always good before and after the. keep doing good work and make your site trustworthy to Google .

      That's a great question really, I think we should make a research on that with seo spyglass to see what really works best.

      But from the top of my head, particular types aside, it really depends on a particular link and how spamy it is. A press release can be a spamy technique with the only aim of hitting Google News and getting a dozen of nofollow links. On the other hand, a press release can be a natural part of a PR strategy, when a legitimate company shares important news. You see, it all depends.

      But still, there might be types that work best after Penguin 2.1, and it's worth taking a closer look at those.

    What worked before still works, with one fine tweak.

    Use less keywords. Have naked links instead. Opt for relevant sites and back-links instead of spammy sources and link networks.

    "Natural" link building is the name of the game

    I do blog comments/forum postings
    Guest posting
    My own network of private blogs/aged domain names

    That's about it.

      I would go with this

      - High PR links from expired domains
      - Social media links
      - Local listings / citations
      - Image links or Social Bookmarks
      - Press releases

      Why? Just cause it makes it look more legit and disguise the high PR links a bit as those are the true force behind rankings.

      Forum posting is also not a bad one indeed.

      Really, I think that guest blogging is the only reliable method anymore to get high quality links from lots of other sites with lots of ip diversity/authority/pr/trust/etc.

      I actually believe that the "monster" package from this fiverr guy would work...but it's $200 a pop: perform as agreed Monster Package - fiverr

    Only natural link building is working after penguin update.We just have to create link in natural way which should not have to look spammy or junk.
