Hi Warriors, I really need your help on SEO and my ecommerce site.

First, I have an ecommerce site that is getting a few sales a week as result of traffic from Google Product ads.

Here are my questions:

1. I am considering adding quality, unique content in the way of articles on this site's blog, which is hosted by Shopify in an attempt to stimulate organic traffic. Is this waste of time, or should I just pay for more product ads?

2. If you believe quality articles with good keywords will attract organic traffic, how my articles would it take?

3. Finally, how long would it take to get results? Can I get results by the holiday season? Or am I looking at 6 months to a year to realize any boost?

Your comments and gameplans for such a strategy are appreciated, On the other hand, if you think it is not a good short-term strategy, I'd like to know that also.

Thanks in advance.

SEO is not going to happen overnight. I built a site in SA for a company and made sure that each product description was unique(not from manufacturer), all images etc has alt tags and so on. The site is now performing very well.

Basically there is no short cut but if you follow the suggestions of other warriors then you cant go wrong.

Indeed. You would not really have to push yourself to do everything all at the same time. You might just end up killing your website. Yes, it is good that you are planning to fill it with high quality content but if you do not really know what to do and where to start, just ask for a help of a SEO expert.

Article marketing is a combination of a bigger picture plan. So first I must highly recommend you research the topic of driving organic traffic before implementing a piece of a whole marketing campaign.

If you plow the field yet you have no see or any idea that you needed a seed to grow corn you look pretty funny out there in the field Once he realized you're missing something.

Articles themselves will not drive your traffic. In fact, you can write 100 and the e-zine articles, yet no one will ever see them. If no one even knows that your site exists, let alone have any way of spreading the word around.

My recommendation is to get the fundamental structure of your overall site SEO in tip-top shape. This will only serve to help you, and yet is still just a very small piece in the bigger puzzle.

The most important thing from there will be to be a Building high-quality back links. Yes, using these articles not on your site on third-party sites.

There is a lot of material from a lot of great people out there that had gone through the struggles that you are facing right now that can tell you a thing or two about SEO and the structures. There's no way I can tell you everything here, let alone give you the experience that you need to go through to understand certain things so recommend reading up.

After you get some understanding any practice began to automate through software and then ultimately hire a team to do the SEO for you.

This is a very basic overview of something that is much bigger than can be explained here, but you follow this information and it will help you.

If there's anything else I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

    1) Waste of time
    2) Quality articles with ''good'' keywords want attract traffic if you nobody sees those articles.
    3) 3-4 months depends on the niche , up to 6 weeks going black hat

e-commerce SEO is a pain in the a55, make sure that yours on-site and the whole duplicate product categories thing which is pretty common works fine.

It all depends on what your selling, I personally don't waste my time with things like article marketing and the rest of it. Just do things properly and your only have to do them once. I find ecommerce sites are actually some of the easiest to build, rank and get traffic for.

One of the things you should do is find a list of authority blogs in your niche (sites which talk about the type of products your selling). This is not simply a case of finding the ones with the highest page rank. Concentrate on the social interaction of the site, do they provide their readers with quality information, are they getting a lot of visitors etc...

Pick your best product and contact the webmaster(s) asking if they would be interested in doing a review of your product and in return you give them the item for free. This alone will get your more powerful links than any shitty article marketing campaign and at the same time it's got the potential to get you loads more traffic and clients.
