I have been doing SEO for a few years now, but believably I have never really used any software. I have always just had a network of blogs which I owned and some that I was able to access to post and create pages on which belonged to friends. I have never not been able to hit a keyword for a client to date but I have probably spent more time working that I should have.

So, what software packages can you point me to? I have been using BuzzBundle for about a month now and that is really awesome, although its not really an SEO tool.

I am looking for something that I can set up every day, week, month (what ever) and it will help me with link building.

Any suggestions?

    Hi Nathan,

there are a lot of SEO tools that you can use. The best depends upon what you want to do. Anyway, I will give you a list of my favorite Seo tools.

1.) Google Docs - used for sharing documents
2.) Article Spinner - gives you spun article used for posting and updating blogs or sites.
3.) Google Keyword Tools - use for analyzing keywords for a certain topic
4.) iCloud - this is great for sharing calendars

    I hope that helps.

I would not recommend Article Spinner, as everyone knows Google only likes original content.

ScrapeBox is the #1 I would recommend. The list of things you can do with that software is really decent.

        Hi,
this is not a complete seo tool, but it´s very helpful to save time as you check your rankings, you can check up to 10 keywords at a time and also compare with your competitors. It´s called cronoseo, it also gives you the possibility to assign points to each keyword according to it´s relevance for your business, export into excel, pdf, words, to create reports, etc.

+1 for SEO Powersuite. It is a powerful and professional set of tools which are designed mainly for SEO firms due to their scheduled reporting and multi-tasking abilities. - http://www.link-assistant.com

Other than that, you may wish to use Googles Keyword Planner for initial keyword research, but that should always be backed up at least by a manual competition review.

SEO is focusing more and more towards quality over quantity so you will always find yourself going back to doing things yourself to get desired results.

Backlinking software just creates links which end up hurting your website at each update.

SEO Powersuite all the way. I have been using it for a long time now and it is very efficient. When it comes to keyword research, I trust Google Keyword Planner. A lot of people have been convincing me to use others but I still find it the most accurate.

Wow, so SEO PowerSuite seems to be the most liked. I guess I will download the trial and see how I go, probably will buy it soon though.

There are a lot suggestions so I hope to have a look at them all this week and see what they all do etc.

    Thanks guys!

Another option is Market Samurai. I used SEO PowerSuite but found it too expensive and not really user friendly. I also didn't like the fact that they didn't mention you had to pay for updates (though this may have changed). MS for me.

    1. Scrapebox (for scraping link targets)
    2. GSA SER (for link building)
    3. Backlink Monitor (for managing my backlinks)
    4. Ultimate Niche Finder + Keyword Researcher (for keyword research. P.s: Google Keyword Planner doesn't come close)

Those are my top 3. I didn't include a rank tracking software here because tracking your rankings =/= your success in SEO. You can use any type of ranking tracking software and you can still be successful in SEO.

I use WebFire. They have over 20 SEO tools in one - and many of them are truly tremendous (particularly their keyword tool and their Site Rank tracker).

I haven't used some of these others, but I'm quite certain WebFire is less expensive than them as well.

I recently switched to GSA Search Engine Ranker and like what I see so far...

I have used SENuke and Magic Submitter, but they both are on a SUBSCRIPTION plan and for the work I was doing, it didn't make sense to pay that money. Needless to say how involved both of the software are. It's a full time job setting up those things.

I almost forgot, ScrapeBox. It's a cheap, buy-it-keep-it tool and is VERY POWERFUL for many things. It also has a ton of free addons that are very helpful.

My advice is to really add up the cost. Most of the software WILL WILL WILL require you to buy outside services to use it to its full potential. In fact, you may have to spend TWICE or even more as much on other things such as article writers, private proxies, decaptchas, etc. Something I should've known.

SEO Powersuite is awesome. However, after your initial purchase, you will have to pay a subscription for updates at some point. I think it is 6mo after purchase. It is well worth it and the cost for the update subscription is not too bad.

And a few others I can't name at the moment. Use all automation software with caution. Some people say It will just screw your rankings up, but that's a lie, and they probably just spammed the hell out of their money site with useless links.

i contacted seo power suite after seeing and ad that had a heavily discounted price on it, the ad is still up and posted here but the offer has expired, why would you advertise an expired offer ???
so i contacted them (link Assistant) and pointed out that i thought it was unreasonable and that then i noticed it was outdated, they then offered to try and do me a special price for the inconvenience, great they asked what package i wanted so i told them, now they never reply to my messages and have not sent me any offer, and the expired add is still being run and advertised ???

traffic travis is very popular and its only $97 for unlimited use, and you can export the results or print them out

seo power suite is $700 for pro version 150 is the cheaper version but you have print export function disabled

For building links Nicholas is right, those are the top LB tools. I will say learning how to use them takes forever. If you have any budget at all, just buy link packages and reinvest. I'm actually giving up on software now that I know how long it takes. It's not worth the effort when you can pay people to do the same thing.
