Best way to find high pr guest blogging sites?

So lately I have been sending out a few (about 30 or so) request either by e-mail or through on-website contact forms, however I only got about 2 leads, with 1 article posted on a PR 4 site.

Is there a better way to find high authority websites that will accept your article for a link?

I tried a few guest blogging lists by using Google, but the ones listed weren't the best in terms of overall quality.

It is not so important to focus on PR because Google will not update PR anymore in the toolbar since many people have been exploiting it. Look for blogs that have stable audience, blogs that are well-shared in social media and have a lot of engagement and fresh content.

The problem might be not the lack of sites that accept guest posts. Though many blog owners have stopped accepting guest contributions, there are still many that do.

Here's why blog owners might ignore your submissions:

    1) There are guest blogging guidelines you ignored. For example, the blog owner clearly stated that the post should be submitted in html, while you submit it as text.

Lesson learned: religiously follow the rules set for guest bloggers (if any).

    2) You send one and the same application to all blogs.

    Lesson learned: send personalized pitches.

    3) You use a fake pen name, don't provide social track and other personal details.

Lesson learned: use your real name that can be easily tracked. Write from a corporate (your site's) email rather than emails like yahoo.

    4) You submitted shallow or irrelevant content.

Lesson learned: take an effort to craft an article that is a match to this blog's audience. Think both theme and awareness level. For example, if you see it's an SEO blog, it's not enough to write about SEO. Look how advanced the rest of the content is. If one of the previous article is a detailed explanation of Google Analytics' new feature, don't submit "10 ways to do SEO for your site."

To sum it up, rather than look for other blogs that accept guest posts, go back to the original 30 ones and pitch them again in a more professional way.

I agree to linkassistant, even some of my guestpost buddies now refuse to do this anymore.

Follow what he said, it looks like a great tip.

You should check the page and domain authority of the blogs you want to post on instead of the PR as this one may not get updated anytime soon or ever in the toolbar.

linkassistant, mentioned what you should do if you find the blogs and you start contacting them, however the first thing you need to do is to actually find these blogs and if you want to link to a commercial site you should know that lately more and more blogs stop accepting guest posts unless you write for a personal blog or you pay them.

Of course there are still many that publish guest posts with links to commercial sites and the key to improve your success rate is to contact only blogs that have published that kind of guest posts recently so you should stop searching in google using querries that lead to guest post guidelines pages and start using querries that will show the actual guest posts .

Just check a few guest posts and you will see that there are phrases that many guest bloggers use at their bylines...

You have to use the best and largest directory, just use Technorati and look at the top 100 blog lists, then see blogs that accept guest blogging and contact them, select blogs in your niche only, it's better for your blog.
    Good luck.

When you do guest blogging, the - manual - way, there are always issues of time, quality etc.

Think about it - the blog owner get's 20 pitches like yours in a day - 18 are spun and low quality content - what should the blogger do? Most bloggers delete those pitches immediately, without even reading them.

And while some of you might argue that guest blogging is free - it actually never is.

You sent 20 pitches - 18 rejected you. 2 got approved, many emails back and forth - and finally, your post is published. You lost valuable time - you worked too hard - and you gave away high quality content (which you would anyway - paid or free!) - but this point is - all this time and energy has value - so it costed you anyway.

Make a budget and see how guest blogging works every time.
