Are there any tools out there besides Keyword Planner? How can I determine whether it is worth using Adwords to advertise my client's B2B business? Please help me.

Google generally gives 75USD credit for anyone to try advertising. This should be sufficient to test out a sample campaign. Else, look into your clients competitors and checkout if they are advertising

Yes, my client's competitors ARE advertising. I am wondering if it will be too expensive to advertise with all that competition.

There are too many variables involved for any tool to tell you definitively whether Adwords will work for the unique circumstances of your client, or not.

Two of the most important variables are: How well Adwords is managed and optimized, and how well the site converts. If you get both right, you can smoke the competition.

The only way to know for sure is to give it a fair test. New advertisers can start with a coupon worth $25, $50, $100, or more of free traffic to test it with.
