Q1] I wanted to know whether we can use the content from the blogs/ website which have been de-indexed by Google?

Q2] Is it alright if I use the same title tag for most of my webpages? will my website get penalized? Will be there be any duplicate content issue?

Q3] Do search engines give any importance for Meta tags or there only purpose is to increase CTR?

Thanks in advance!

A1] Use unique content because those are already crawled by Google
A2] Every webpage must be unique Title tag.
A3] Yes, Search Engine gives importance to Title Tags and Meta Description Tags. But Meta Keywords tags are not crawled by Google.

If some guy threw up 50 articles on his own site about how to buy cheap e-cigs, got crawled and then de-indexed...I don't know how it would show as duplicate content in Google....they erased it from their index right? They have nothing to compare it against in their own data centers. Your version of the article, once indexed, would be the original version.

Unless of course Google "ghosts" stuff when it de-indexes it like Craigslist ghosts posts. You run a site:mysite.com/url-for-article/ search and see nothing because it has been de-indexed, but google really has their own backup copy of the page in their back room which they can still access for comparison purposes.

I'm guessing that's possible, but I doubt it. Google has a lot to memorize just indexing the existing web. How many previous versions of any given webpage they keep is anyone's guess, but I doubt it's more than 3. After all, that would be the entire internet x3 having to be taken down and recorded.

Q1] I wanted to know whether we can use the content from the blogs/ website which have been de-indexed by Google?

    >> No. It is safer to make your own content. These days it's best if you can post good and quality content. Remember SEO is not just about optimizing content anymore. It's also about providing what your readers need.

Q2] Is it alright if I use the same title tag for most of my webpages? will my website get penalized? Will be there be any duplicate content issue?

    >> No you don't use the same title tags for all your pages. If Google reads these tags, your website may be penalized for duplicate content based from tittle tags.

Make your title tags relevant to the page content. Do not forget to also include your keywords within your title tag.

Q3] Do search engines give any importance for Meta tags or there only purpose is to increase CTR?

Yes they do. Meta tags are included in onsite optimization simply because they are considered one of the many factors that Google uses to rank sites.

A: If you take that content off the web and there is no "risk" of Google re-indexing it, you can just wait for some time and safely use it again.
There is archive.org/web of course, but they are not Google. And even they don't have every website under the sun archived.

A: If you do that, it may look like you're trying to create duplicate pages on purpose, to manipulate your rank. So, that's a no-no.

A: Meta keywords are totally useless these days, and may even leak your keywords to competitors. Keywords in titles are still believed to help your content rank for the said keywords. As for meta descriptions, opinions normally split here.

--> what do you mean by manipulating your rank? if multiple pages are getting ranked for the same keyword, I guess Google will rule out other identical pages, is it correct??

Well, you said duplicate titles, not identical pages. Pages with nearly identical content will likely be grouped in so-called DUST groups (different URL similar text). And in each group, a "canonical" or "standardized" URL will be picked to be shown in the search results.

However, if you just have identical titles, this may look like you're creating more pages to rank them for different keywords (as opposed to creating them, because your users need it).

As per Google Webmaster Guidelines (Quality Guidelines) ->
        Some examples of doorways include:...
Multiple pages on your site with similar content designed to rank for specific queries like city or state names
Hence, it's better to have unique page titles on the site.

Duplicate content is not good at any cost. You should always go for unique and quality where ever you want to post.

Okay, so got it, No duplicate title tags...
But is the title used by Search engines to decide the ranking? I think titles & meta desc tags are only good for CTR. Are the title & meta desc tags crawled by Search engines??
