I admit it!!! i need help!

I'm not totally new to the internet marketing gig, i've been struggling with this website for over 7 months now with only 2 clickbank sales made.
then they got and took the money from me (account latency) or something like that .

But it's ok i'll just keep on working on it till i see some revenue cuz i'm kinda optimistic about the whole thing.

but i have to ask; am i doing it wrong?

  1. 95% of my traffic is organic search:confused:
  2. my conversion rate is 0%
  3. my affilliate banner click through is like 3% but zero sales in the past 5 months
  4. i've posted a clickbank product + a few amazon affiliate stuff that also don't convert
  5. the only seo i did are some articles in Ezine and a couple other directories.
I just read that SEO traffic doesn't convert. and i have no idea what to do now?
i need help figuring out my next step .

You need different traffic generating methods, but perhaps you also need different products. First of all you have to find buyers.

You have to sell what people are buying.

Read many posts in this forum until you will learn everything you need.

SEO traffic does convert, but it can take a long time to get where it needs to be, either that or money. And it can quickly get taken away.

Where is your site ranking? If it isn't on page one for something with a decent bit of traffic, I'd expect exactly the results that you're getting.

SEO traffic does convert - it is much more likely to be your site that does not - have you tested it so see what is most effective?

"Dormant account charges"; yes. They come into effect only after your account hasn't seen a sale for 90 consecutive days. If ever you need to, you can avoid them completely simply by buying a $3/$4 product through your own hoplink on the 89th day. This is perfectly legitimate and accepted and re-sets the clock to zero, effectively giving you another 90 days to make a "real" sale.

    Yes; I think so.

    In several places, I'm afraid.

You have a business that depends on organic search traffic, and it's going to be terribly difficult to make much from ClickBank sales with that traffic. But it sounds as if you're also trying to sell CB products through affiliate banners on a website? That, again, is seriously stacking the deck against yourself (and I'm putting it mildly). Like many other people, I also made this mistake, when I first started: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8637482

For me, SEO traffic (of which I happen to have floods, in many niches) over many years now, has always converted pretty badly for CB sales - overall, it's only about 15% as good as any other traffic I routinely get. I believe this figure isn't atypical among successful CB affiliates. About 20% of my traffic comes from search engines, but that 20% of traffic represents only about 3% of my income. :p

If I might offer a suggestion, start here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

After that (and the links in that post), if it looks helpful/interesting to you, this is how I sell CB products as an affiliate: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5721774 (but of course without knowing you and understanding what your skills are, I can't begin to tell whether or not this method will also suit you - different methods suit different people!).

If you rank in the search engines for a buyer keyword related to the product, you'll make sales. But, you depend on the search engines and your competition in the search engines will be fierce. You can make consistent money for weeks or months and then it's gone. It's happened to me.

Whatever your niche is, you need to develop your own sources of traffic - whether it be article marketing, social media, buying traffic - you need to be able to turn it on when you need it.

And then there's building your list, which is paramount. This is truly "on-demand" traffic. Therefore your external sources of traffic should be used to build your list.

If you really want to focus on SEO, by all means do so, but be committed to it and understand the risks involved.

If you prefer to serve a group of real people to whom the Clickbank products will help, this frees you with the type of content you create - you just need to create great content and use that to go get traffic - article marketing, social media and/or buying traffic.

I recommend you to build a list if you want to get sales from clickbank, the more email address you have, the more money you will make

If you're not getting any Sales throughout the past 5 months, then definitely you're doing something wrong at some point. It's time to find that point and correct it.

If your Conversion Rate sucks, why don't you improve it by using tactics like,
    - Creating a better Copy for your website which promotes the offer.
    - Using an attractive design related to the niche of the offer.
    - Using highly attractive Call-To-Actions.

You said, SEO Traffic does not convert. A Big No for this. If Organic Traffic doesn't convert, then every other type of Traffic shouldn't be convert. Because Organic Traffic is the most Targeted Traffic after the Email List you build using your Blog.

Don't concentrate or promote multiple stuffs on the same website unless it is an Authority Blog. - A blog which always write about some specific topics under a one big niche with high popularity.

Don't distract the prospective customer with multiple offers, using just the right one will make you a sale and a customer to the Product Creator.

SEO is not just Link Building. It is far beyond that one factor. You should do OnSite SEO & OffSite SEO which includes hundreds of tunes to your Affiliate Blog or Minisite or Authority Site.

And you should learn more about Affiliate Marketing to sharp your knowledge on these things I've mentioned.

    Best Wishes,
    Shyam Chathuranga.

First traffic doesn't convert unless it's targeted traffic (same niche traffic). I'm not sure which comments you've read saying search traffic doesn't convert but they obviously suck at SEO or they would know how to make a sale.

Stop trying to promote everything at once, get one product converting into sales first.

Here's a huge part of earning money with CB. Never send your traffic to a default CB vendor sales page, most of those CB sales pages are built to steal affiliate traffic (email optins, external links, other gimmicks to lure traffic off the sales page, etc...).

Build your own sales page with only the facts about the product (think Walmart product description).

Build a quality site that offers free content that's related to the product your selling (traffic lure).

Target buyer & freebie traffic sources/keywords at the same time. Freebie seekers will sometimes still buy, even If they don't buy they'll help share links (for free content) all over the net where other traffic will be interested in buying when they land on your site & see a similar product for sale.

    Recap:
    1. Never send traffic to a default CB sales page.
    2. Focus on one product & get sales before moving on to the next product.
    3. Build your own sales page.
    4. Build a quality site.
    5. Target both buyer & freebie traffic sources/keywords.

If you need conversions sales, you need targetted traffic, try buying from related traffic sources, do more advertising, advertise on right places to get good results, do social media ads, these ads are good to target right people.

SEO traffic definitely converts. I've made $100,000's that way. You must figure out whats going wrong my friend. If your getting SE traffic and still not converting its your landing page not converting. Put yourself in the eyes of the buyer. Would YOU buy what your selling? Hope that helps you.

LOL Search Engine traffic is the best converting traffic if you are targeting the right keywords.

It is likely that you are probably just promoting a crap product, as there are a TON of crap clickbank products.

Also try using text links over banners, it will help your click through rate greatly over banners.

Ah, this is why I love the SEO forum. If you go to the main marketing forum then no one would ever dare question the people saying SEO is terrible for converting traffic into buyers. You come here and people immediately disagree.

In all likelihood you're going to make the most money through your list, but surely organic traffic is one of the very best ways to get people onto your list.

Well obviously sending an offer to a list that you have built a relationship with is going to convert well. But to say that SEO is "terrible converting" traffic is absurd.

Companies don't invest huge sums of money on SEO and PPC so they can get "poor converting" traffic to their websites.

You can't compare the two, they are totally different beasts.

That's like saying advertising on TV is stupid because you can just sell to your friends. Of course selling to someone that you have established a good relationship with is going to trump methods where a prior relationship is not present.

I think you're confusing what I'm saying. I agree that SEO is wonderful for getting converted traffic. I'm just pointing out that people on the two forums think differently. Personally, I'm all about the SEO way of doing things.

    So @Alexa Smith,
i've done some reading and there is a TON!! of different ways to get traffic, and it seems if i try them all i'll probably go crazy some time soon.
so how about if i try this:

    Facebook page (already 330 likes)
article marketing (need some help as to the directories)
and backlinking (still SEO but worth a try)
I'll work on these for a while and see how it goes from there
any idea if this is enough?

What are you selling? It's not that hard to work with Clickbank. It's perfect if you HAVE the product in your PC or you could try it! So, you could make a video review or AT least write a GOOD and INFORMATIVE article about it. You can always use Social media sites to BOOST your sales because sometimes with SEO it could be hard if there are thousands of other websites promoting the same product!
