Does backlinks (legitimate backlinks not spam links) weight from .edu domain is the same from edu.uk or edu.in or .edu.ph?

Or does all these so called .edu backlinks are all myths?

Myth......Many educational sites get mad links and juice by virtue of being institutions of learning and research. Thats why the myth was born but there is no good proof that simply the TLD gives you any juice of any sort.

according to google those TLD's are treated the same way as they treated the normal domains. the only thing why some claims that they are getting better juices is because most of the TLD's accept only minimal links and they are very relevant with the niche.

It's not the domain extention but the domain's internal value.

Instead of checking the extention only access the overall SEO value of the site like PR.

Additional question, if you have a chance to get a free blog from .edu would you grab the opportunity have it or is it better to use blogspot or wordpress?

On their own, they are all equally worthless, so take whichever one you want.

Why you come up into conclusion that they are all equality worthless? I saw blogs from these free bloghosting site that are doing good.

My point was that there is nothing special about .edu domains. It would be stupid to grab a blog from one. There is no extra weight given to the .edu TLD.

Anyone who says otherwise is probably just a .edu link seller.

Wordpress, Blogger, Tumblr... whatever. It is still a worthless blog when you start. Whether or not it becomes something valuable depends on what you do with it, not the host you start with.

That being said, if you are doing any kind of affiliate marketing, stay away from Wordpress. They delete blogs with affiliate links rather quickly.

.edu with plus country TLD is worth less than .edu without country TLD.
I experienced this. And I'm sure with this.
But I still believed them strong backlink from .gov and .edu still weight more than generic TLD.
