I was wondering how to give someone a backlink to my wordpress website. Do I add a blog post with links to their website? Or do I have to do something else?

Also, If I were to change my wordpress theme, will I lose rank on Google?

    Do you mean put their link on your site? If so, you can make a post or put it in sidebar or put it on some page - wherever you want, but usually you put in into a post or a page

    If you change your theme your rank usually stays unless you are doing some other big changes with your content on your home page

      .....have to agree it is better to put it in a post or page rather than say the sidebar and make it a site-wide link.

      You could also ask that person to do an article for you. Ask for an unique article and reward them with a link in the post they write for your site.

    You can write a post and add their link into post. Or you can add the link into sidebar.

    Changing theme is risky but if you need to change, change it.

    Doing an in-content backlink is preferable! Especially if you can add the backlink without looking as SPAM! (like you are talking about SEO for example and add a part of the sentence as an anchor text and create a backlink!)

    It actually depends on what you really want to achieve.

    Is it to recommend or pass link to your friends site?

    Having unrelated link can make your site look spammy.

    So let's say your target audience is CoD players because you want to start a decent clan, you would find a forum/site for gamers and post a comment with a link to your site and that would be a backlink? Please correct me if I am wrong lol
