Losing my patience with Market Samurai

Hi, I'm new, and first of all, english is not my language, so excuse any silly mistakes

Let's see, I'm trying to make myself comfortable with using Market Samurai but I just can't. I watched many tutorial videos and none of them seem to have this problem:

When using Keyword Research, I click "Generate Keywords", got a list, then I click on "Keyword Analysis" as usual, but after clicking "Analyze Keywords" almost all of then end disappearing, leaving me with 3 or 4 choices that aren't the ones I'm interested to. If click back to "Keyword Generation" it appears only those 3-4 keywords. It doesn't show "removed" or "filtered" at all, the program states 0 of them. I click again on "Generate Keywords" and it appears only a small selection compared to the first time I did that. I need to delete the project and do another one, but the same issue happens. I'm quite frustrated because I cannot do market researching at all.

I'm using the trial version on OS X. Could it be a limitation from the trial? I don't think so, because nobody would be tempted to buy the full program...

It's there something I'm not getting at all?

Check your filters in the top panel. It's likely you are filtering out the results based on these settings.

Market Samurai is a useless piece of junk. Don't worry about it.

I agree with Mike - Market Samurai is history.

And, when did Market Samurai come out? I'd rather rely on software that premiered this year or recently rather than something which came out five years ago.

I actually have never understood why people are loving it because it has only basic useless functions you can use with Google Keyword Planner or other free tools.

MS is only good for copy/pasting the top 10 listings from Google and running their Majestic SEO stats quickly. Other than that don't use it for KW research.

What stuff do you want to do? If you want to add a keyword and get more suggestions with number of searches and so on then use simple and free Google Adwords Keyword Planner.

If you want to be more serious about keyword research use Semrush. I think these are two tools you actually need for a great in depth keyword research.

P.S. If you want to analyze a competition of the keyword then install MozBar and check page authority metrics. That's it.

Personally I use market samurai every day of the week. Dollar for dollar I don't think there is a tool out there to touch it.

There are plenty of tools that will show you a lot more useful information.

          Google Keyword Planner
          Ahrefs
          Majestic SEO
          SEO SpyGlass
          Screaming Frog

Market Samurai lives on nothing but IM'ers hype. It provides nothing that tells you how competitive a keyword actually is.

Instead of Market Samurai, I believe long tail pro is much easier, better and faster. You can buy the lifetime subscription for 97$ (some discount coupons will get you for 67$ or less) which can be used for any number of searches through out your life.

You can also buy their monthly platinum subscription which allows you to see the keyword competitiveness quickly. Very useful and time saving.

Coming to your issue, I think you should remove the option called Golden Rules, which wont allow you get the accurate information. Also make sure not to put any negative keywords, which might filter your traffic.

Let me know if you are still unable to get the accurate information. Btw if you have not bought MS already, then don't go for it. Invest in Long tail pro, which is totally worth your money.

    Check this screenshot.

I personally don't like Market Samurai as you can obtain the same amount of information with almost the same effort using Keyword Planner and tools like SEO Majestic, SEOBacklink Spy and similar.

Obviously they involve a little bit of manual effort, so it all depends on your needs.

If you're using MS for the purpose of checking a site's backlinks, you can use Majestic SEO instead. Market Samurai pulls their data from Majestic SEO.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I will study them.

To add more info, I'm trying to tackle the niche website thing, that concept is not very well known in my country yet, so perhaps I might get lucky if I start now. What I want to do is to find the best keywords and check the possible competition.

Market samurai was good, but the didn't made any serious changes to the system which made it outdated.
I now use longtailpro it's good and gives good report on searches worldwide.

I looked at Long tail pro a long time back and the features were really basic. Having looked at it recently, it's still the same and the "coming soon" features have been part of the standard package on MS since day one.
For a $100 signup fee with a monthly subscription, I'm baffled as to why anyone would prefer it over MS.
