If i use HitLeap for my website and i receive 1000-3000 hits per day to my website from HitLeap traffic exchange, Google can penalize my website? Or have nothing to do with this and all that matters are backlinks and on-page?

How is Google even going to know where your traffic is coming from?

If it's the site in OPs sig, the site is running Google Analytics.

The better question is, why would you want random traffic?

He read somewhere that the more traffic you get the higher you will rank. My $5 is going on that one..

OP@ It doesnt effect your rankings so..unless your trying to defraud them with adsense or something, I don't see why they'ed care

UH that was my 1000th post on WF..And not a single word of quality content.

why would you get penalized? you are simply doing a traffic exchange that comes in a way of exchanging backlinks, gadgets or banners that is perfectly fine

I`m doing this because the Traffic Exchange will help me to get more members to my website. That`s all. And i also want to do some SEO on the site and i want to know if Google will penalize my site because of this.

Are you doing link exchange with them? Or you have cross linking structure? If yes, then you may be penalized.

I guess your site will not be banned with a traffic exchange, but surely your AdSense will be! Remove any sitewide links from these kinda sources to avoid penalty in future!

You shouldn't be, but as far as I remember, there is a clause in AdSense policy that it doesn't like Traffic Exchanges (those that encourage people to click on a post, say, to visit in exchange for traffic). This was years ago, I assume it's still valid til now

There were some debate on this whether traffic exchange X is okay or not in the past, and no one seems to be able to know the real answer

F Google. Keep on getting traffic from as many sources as you can and it won't matter what Google does.

Throwing crappy links/traffic at a site isn't a smart move.

OP, prove the links/traffic aren't crap, there's your answer. If you can't prove the links/traffic are decent, assume it's crap. Move on...

Good luck with completely random traffic.

Random traffic from irrelevant sources won't really affect your ranking in Google search, but can easily earn you a penalty or ban from Google Adsense. If you are not using Adsense, that's not really a problem though.

If you don't have adsense on the site, you are doing fine, stop being paranoid. You are not alone, people do this without any problem.
