Personal Blog + Amazon + Adsense

Sup, I was wondering if any of you guys have a personal blog that targets a certain crowd where you monetize through Amazon and with adsense? AT THE SAME TIME....Not using adsense + amazon on the same content if that makes sense.

So let's say you have a site (same site for these xamples)

hxxp://yourblog.com/air-purifier - has a review and a link to Amazon

and then...

hxxp://yourblog.com/breathing-techniques - you now have an adsense.

Have you guys done this?

And have you guys seen some success with a personal blog that monetizes through Amazon and adsense?

Newbie question, but just prepping up for the holidays .

Of course it will work. And to be more precise that's a proper monetization. Just flat ads for all of your contents is like missing 50% of your potential revenue.

Cause all I hear when it comes to monetizing through Amazon are review sites, review sites review sites review sites. I mean, it can't JUST be review sites... -_-

    • I use AdSense on all my Amazon review sites

I don't really understand what you are trying to ask, but I would say putting only Amazon on one post and putting on Adsense on another is kind of a pain in the ass. That doesn't really fit in my easyadsense plugin work life - you know what I mean

No. That's the thing. I'm not talking about Amazon Review sites. I don't want to have ONLY amazon review sites. I have plenty of those. I'm talking about having a personal blog. One post has ONLY adsense. Another post has ONLY Amazon review. If that makes sense.

Heck, another post can have my own product. And another post has a clickbank product.

How about multiple ways to monetize all in one site? Is that looked down upon? EVEN if the site has tons of info/quality. EVEN if the site is fun to go to etc?

I feel the way you are thinking of doing things is best. I've always been under the impression that each post should have a specific goal in mind. If your goal is to make a sale through Amazon, which could result in $70 in commission, why pass up that opportunity for a 50 cent click? As is always the case in these siutations, the best thing to do is test having different forms of monetization on each page. It's hard to give you a definitive answer.

The only potential problem I see is that CB thing, and perhaps
others that are similar. Many CB products, if not all, violate
the terms of adsense. So, one could argue, that if your
"site" links to that stuff, and, somewhere on said site you
            have adsense, well,...I dunno.

I myself would go for a clean amazon site, and/or clean adsense site,
            and/or a clean CB site.

              That's good to know.

I might just stick with Amazon + Adsense. OR become an affiliate for a specific product that I've used etc.

People have different opinion. Most of the people does want to use all those together because they feel the things will mess up there. Some are afraid of adsense termination. So, I would also suggest you to go separately.

                  Just to clarify -

I'm not implementing adsense + product + amazon + clickbank all in ONE post. However, I plan on TRYING it out where one specific post has only amazon, and another post has adsense, and even a post(s) with nothing to monetize at all. Monetizing three different ways through ONE site.

I know people have different opinions. But I just want to see if there's anyone here that's done it with a personal blog and what's been their experience from an SEO stand point, bounce rate stand point, and conversion rate stand point.

Yeah, hmm...time to think this out.

Cause let's say I have a personal blog about me losing weight. And let's say I bought me a new treadmill. Do I add an adsense ad? NO. I'm going to put an affiliate link of that treadmill and make probably $50+ per sale.

But then let's say on that same blog I have an opinion in losing weight. No product no nothing. Can't I put an ad there? Or perhaps my experience of buying a certain vegetable? I'm sure Amazon sells veggies, but who would want to buy veggies from Amazon?

I'd say for you, yeah sure. Because your not stupid, and you would know how to set it up not not look over monetized. I'm not going to find chikta, infolinks and 25 random banners when I land on your blog.
    So yeah go for it.

Yeah, I'm not trying to bombard my site with a bunch of affiliate stuff. I'm sure you know that from me . Others on the other hand will put SO MUCH stuff above the fold.

I would go ONLY with AMAZON because with Adsense you would make a few cents from clicks... while with Amazon you could make good cash. And this way you will NOT lose any clients (if they first see your Adsense ads before your Amazon link!)

      No no no.

Some of you guys get it and some of you don't.

I'm not adding an adsense ad IN THE SAME CONTENT with an affiliate link.

They will be separate for each post. But I'm just saying they will both be in ONE site.

Like I said, if I have a post in regards to me trying out this new flywheel on my car, I'll have an amazon link on that particular POST. And then let's say if I have a post with one of the best car insurances out there I would have ADSENSE in that post. But this is all coming from ONE site

    GGPaul,

I run a site that is in a non-visual nich (think mathematics, although that's not it).

About half of my pages are informational and do well with Adsense. I have some Amazon widgets on these pages, but its primarily to have some visual. I use images of books from Amazon to keep the page from being only text. These Amazon widgets do not do well at all, but I don't expect them to. They have another purpose.

The other half of my pages are blog posts, about 1/3 of which are specifically targeted for Amazon. Here, I write about books related to the niche and link in the text to them. These have a 7-8% CTR. The commission on a book isn't great, but it's at least another way to diversify.

    Hope this helps.

From what I have seen so far, I would suggest the following...

    1. Read the ToS of all Affiliate Networks you are using, and make sure you are following the rules.
I put this as #1 because I don't believe there are any conflicts between Clickbank Affiliates and AdSense promoters. The problem arises when someone tries to send ADWORDS (not AdSense) traffic to Clickbank Affiliate Links. Check it out to be safe.

    2. TRY IT! Instead of asking if someone else 'Thinks' it will work, you should test it out and share your results. I've built a few sites with AdSense and Amazon combinations, and I've found they work well together. You can have pages with one type of ad or the other, and/or have pages with ads from both networks. It depends on your Content and Readers.

Used to run a cover music blog. Artiste that have an album or have the song in itunes, I would affiliate that. For others that don't I'll put an adsense code on the post.

And there are others where I just randomly tried putting some music electronics from Amazon with reviews and stuff.
