VERY High USA CTR, Low Overall CTR

Hello, I run a site that gets the majority of its traffic from Nigeria and the UK... initially according to adsense in analytics, it seemed like the majority of my clicks were coming from the UK, or "un set" locations, which I just assumed were somewhere in Nigeria that they could not get an accurate geological location to put. But with the new adsense design it makes it easy for you to see the location from which all of your clicks are coming from.

According to this data, I only have 186 pageviews in the US so far and 31 clicks! Giving the USA a 16.7% CTR.. And then the UK and Nigeria both have a .77% ctr, and the rest are countries with very little clicks.

My average page CTR is .79% which seems very normal to me.

Should my high USA CTR alarm me?

    The statistical data you have from the US is too small to draw conclusions from. It could be that you just hit a bunch of click happy US folk.

    This is especially true if you have Adsense link units on your site where a visitor could log multiple clicks.

    I wouldn't be alarmed as long as you aren't doing anything shady.

    Unless you are doing something against TOS, you shouldn't need to worry, even if the USA CTR remains permanently at such a high level.

    In agreement with GyuMan though, it's likely you've just had a few click happy US visitors and it is unlikely to remain that high when you receive a large number of US visitors.

    I'm definitely not doing anything shady. But I guess it just surprises me because I have such a small amount of U.S. visitors but half of my income is coming from their clicks. I only have 2 ads per page. It has been at a high CTR ever since I created the website. But again. My overall CTR NEVER exceeds 1.50% and is usually at .80% on average.. But maybe you all are right about the fact that it is such a small percentage of visitors. Because I had 3 visitors from some Asian country, and 1 visitor clicked. so the ctr for that country was 33% lol
