I just started my blog and I was wondering what I could do to get it at the top of google.

I already added several plugins, but what does it take to get it to get it noticed on a hot niche?

Enough back links is usually the key, as long as your blog is properly SEO'ed.

Get back links from related sites/web pages, social networks such as Squidoo, links on free blogs such as blogger, submit articles to article directories with back links in the bio box, submit RSS feeds to RSS directories and add feeds on social networks that allow it, post comments on related blogs with dofollow links. Every possible place you can get a link back to your blog.

Just few ideas. There are plenty of SEO related posts on the forum.

    Hi Steven,

Here are some suggestions for you to consider:

    1. Sign up to OnlyWire and/or Social Marker and start to bookmark your articles so that you build up some backlinks and also hopefully get some exposure.

    2. Create a few lenses and hubs using Squidoo and HubPages respectively. Target your main keywords as anchor links back to your website.

    3. Take the articles from your blog and rewrite them. Submit to article directories such as Ezine Articles, Go Articles, Article Base and various others. You can find many more by searching for 'article directory' or 'submit article' in Google.

    4. Optimize your blog pages - I recommend you download the excellent SEO All-In-One Plugin and start optimizing each of your articles.

    5. Submit your RSS Feed to places like Feedburner.

    6. Download Google Sitemap Plugin for your blog. Create a sitemap and then submit it to Google Webmaster Tools.

Those tips should help you get indexed pretty quickly

Everything above is great, but do not expect a TON of traffic right away, it takes time, build up everything and be consistent! The more posts/articles you have the more chance someones searches will relate exactly to what you have!

These should do the trick... good content on these sites and include a link back to your blog.

I use Bookmarking Demon for quick indexing, it really works well for this purpose. Quick indexing is only natural to seek, and social bookmarking links should be a part of your regular link building routine.

    Here's what works for me:

Set your blog to ping update services. For Wordpress this is in Settings > Writing, Update Services.

Add new content regularly, every day when you start out.

Someone already mentioned the importance of backlinks, these techniques work well for me to build links.

Write articles and post them to article directories. Add a link to your blog in the article resource box.

Read other blogs in your topic and interact with these bloggers via comments (try to say something useful, spammy comments are likely to get rejected).

    Regards,
    Gary

      Hello,

First, make sure to use a free or paid SEO optimized theme.

After that I usually make about 3 350 word posts or so.
Next, submit a few articles to ezine articles then find high PR backlinks. They do not have to be on theme either. This is a myth!

      Hope that helps

If you submit your site through Digg and then ping your site as well as the Digg submission you should be indexed relatively quickly.

i cant say that it is 'quickly' but 'valuably' .. I don't need to do it quickly, the fact that i gain VALUABLE Backlinks. That's all that matters...
