How do I find unanswered Google searches?

I have heard that 50% of Google searches are answered - but 50% are NOT answered. (unanswered seems a bit high to me.)

That tells me there is a STARVING CROWD who are not being served.

QUESTION: How do I find Google searches/keywords that people regularly search on but find NO results. I expect they would be part of the 'long tail'.

It seems to me that these would be perfect niches to fill ... and become wealthy on.

ANY IDEA HOW TO FIND THESE UNANSWERED SEARCHES PLEASE?

Bill

I presume that would mean that there are many long-tail searches which are not being answered; and most of them will only have a handful of searches per month. I would have thought these will exist in every niche, as well as some obscure subjects. For instance, the term "ferret wrangling" returns over 9,000 results as a broad match, and "ferret wrangling by night" still has over 8,000 broad match results. If you search on the second phrase with quotes (i.e. phrase-matched), you'll get no results. So, ferret wrangling doesn't have much competition (Google also says there are only 5 sites with ferret wrangling in the title), and I'm not sure if they would count as a "starving crowd"!

There's your answer - that "unanswered search" now show 1 return - this thread!

You would need a page indexed with the phrase-in-question, which would then show up.

But of course, the reason there are zero returns for some searches is that there are no pages indexed with those phrases - usually for a reason...

Only 50%? I would've imagined there were only 1% that return results. Really, I'm returned no results way too often when I'm looking for something!

But yes, those are really long tail keywords. Just have to use your imagination and run Adwords to locate them.

One more place to look for keywords: click on the link "Show options", which should be just above the top search result on the standard Google search page. Lower down the column, have a go at changing from "Standard View" to "Wonder Wheel". Once this loads, it acts as an interactive mind map - if you click on a phrase, it will open up more suggestions,

      cheers,

      Jon.
