Hello People,

I want to know if it is safe to sell High PR links on any forums.
i have read a lot of posts saying that if you start selling your high PR links on a public forums you may get spanked by Google, is that right?

if yes then how can i sell links for marketer & advertisers?
should i do it privately? how can i do that?
please don't tell me i have to call them one by one and offer them my links.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,
Jordan

You're not suppose to, but people sell them anyways. It's more of what you cherish most, money or rankings?

do you think its safe to offer my links without mentioning my PR websites on the forum?
so if someone is interested in my links he/she could PM me, is that right?
Please let me know your thoughts.

      Thank you

If you reveal where you are selling links from, you will be sorry. You will have to keep that hidden from Google etc.

It would be wiser to just display Google Adsense, Amazon Ads, etc. to monetize your website.

However, I have seen websites that goes to the route of having their sub-forum "sponsored" by a related-product advertiser, not for the purpose of passing PR juice, but for traffic. (For example, a Mac forum with a sub-forum "Repairs" is sponsored by "Mike's Repair Shop")

Those websites are not penalized by Google for the past 4-5 years. So you can consider that also.

Google understands that online advertisers want to get new visitors from related sites so if it is an open call for advertisers and not "hey, you can get PageRank by paying me $X" you would be fine.

I think it is better to avoid it nowadays lest you fall foul of google.

Sure why not, as long as you don't advertise the site name on forums and publicly. Tell people to PM you for details.

Do these high PR sites currently make you much money? Are they your sole source of income?

Depending on the answers to the above questions, my advice would be different. If they make you significant money that you live off then I wouldn't take the risk. If you don't really make much from them and don't rely on them as your income then the risk is worth taking.

As for privacy - it's probably best to find a small handful of buyers (maybe SEO companies) who will come back and buy again and again for their various clients so that you don't have to reveal your sites to a large number of people.

Google does not care if you sell links. Anyone that says they do,
is ignoring 50% of what google says. So, 100% of what they say
should be ignored, as they are full of it.

Google's whole empire is based on PAID links!

They do not like people selling links for the simple reason of raising
PR. That would hurt your site and theirs.

Google does not know the difference between:

      A paid link for advertising.
      A paid link for PR.
A link to a friend "just because."
A link to an authoritative site for your visitors for more info.

Unless you tell them. You tell them by doing the following:

Having a link on your page that says, "buy a link here."
Putting the link on each and every page.
Putting a link that makes no sense, like right in the middle
of an article on laundry soap, you put, "and to make your clothes
really clean, check on the student loan consolidation site."
Putting multiple outbound links in articles.

Google does not hate paid links. Never have, never will.

Feel free to sell the links without doing it in an obvious manner.

    Some examples are:

    - Selling links from within contextual content

    - Placing a link in a blogroll to a website which is directly related to your market

The idea here is to not go overboard in making it obvious.

Just be sure to post on RELATED pages only (it's not a good idea the links to be on the HOMEPAGE (or Sitewide links))

The thing I can never get a hang on is how much can you sell a link for on the various PR home pages or inner pages. I think it would be worth doing this as a business model, if I could figure out the finances of it.

Totally depends on the site quality I would say.

If it's some basic setup WP site like the posts I used to sell here then I charged $6/post and people were fine with paying that.

Nowadays I have niche relevant sites, on those the blog posts go for $15/each, which is perhaps a bit on the expensive side but that's kind of done on purpose to get people to sign up for my monthly service instead of buying one time packages.

These prices are both based on roll off blog posts btw with about 20-30 days on homepage.

Lately I saw someone offering a mix of permanent PR2/PR3/PR4 homepage links at Traffic Planet for $8/each with 50 outbound links at the homepage, which is pretty cheap.

Soon I have something new coming up where I offer the same but then with only 25 outbound links on the homepage for the same price, I bet that service will run like wild fire.

      The math is quite simple:

      average price PR3 domain $50,-
      25 pieces of content (100 words average) = $25,-
      posting 25 pieces + relevant images = $10,-
Set up for the site: $5,-
      Paypal fees: $10,-

      Total costs: $100,-

      Sell 25 spots * $8 = $200,-

$100,- profit, sure there are domain renewal costs each year but I wouldn't leave the site without purpose after that, I could still keep on posting, the post just wouldn't show on the homepage anymore so that would then be either for private purpose or another type of service that I could use them for.

Try to make sure that the sites are related in some sort of semilogical way. And also only sell generic anchor text links. Keyword rich anchors are where google is tripping people up lately.

Its a felony in 15 States so be careful. The internet police fly around in Black Hawks keeping an eye on us. If you sell anything online they may drop by in the night and take you out. Stay low bro...pce..

I suggest you make a direct approach to SEO companies via email. In your email list the PR, niche and price per link. SEO companies are always on the lookout for quality links at a reasonable price. I'd also offer banner ad links.
